This afternoon I watched clips of a game between St Helens school boys and Wakefield school boys played at Wembley before the Cup Final in 1988. One different rule that I liked was that when one team had conceded a try, they restarted the game with a tap on the half way line. In the words of the commentator Ray French, this was to stop one team becoming too dominant.
I can even remember writing an article for the RLSA magazine TGG over 25 years ago urging this rule to be considered..
