Given the situation clubs are going to find themselves in financially as a result of Corona I think I'd pass to be honest. Rather stick with what we've got already and let Max and Connor Bailey develop. Just interested to see what others thoughts were.

Agreed, there are only three or four super league clubs with sufficient financial backing to ensure survival for another year, let alone 2/3 years. The players union are already seeking to get their members back onto full payment ASAP, suggesting the players should have full payment once the game restarts, even behind closed doors. I’m sure it wouldn’t go down well with players of any club, if new players are brought into a club now, which is difficult for players union, who will want Out of Contract members finding new clubs. It’s a difficult balancing act for everyone involved.

Would I like him....absolutely
Are we in a position to bring him in....probably not, for the reasons already mentioned.
Is he better than what we have....in some areas yes, but what we have is pretty good and has the potential to be better.
So it would be a bit of a Hobsons dictated by circumstance.

I am hearing that all our current overseas players are going to be more than likely leaving the club at the end of the year.
We are basically going to be starting from scratch in 2021 on a very very limited budget.
when and if we return this year we will be blooding all the young kids to get them ready for next year - as long as their is no relegation this year.

I think any long term impact of reduced salaries will lead to some overseas players returning. Some have made a life here now but others are here for the work (nothing wrong with that at all - it is a job, with short career length) and if the money is only what they can get the Queensland Cup then they'll be off home. Going to be a very difficult financial situation at Wakefield next couple of years. How frustrating it must be for MC to have worked to give us a stable footing and be hit by this...
