I wouldn’t be surprised if it was sooner cos I think once they start relaxing things it will gather pace big style.

I think it will happen, just a gut feeling, but which option should be used.
Model 1, 9 round, plus CC competition, the weather should still be ok playing until until the end of November.
Model 2. 11 rounds plus CC season ends mid December. That’s a problem for some overseas players who go home for Christmas. The weather may still be ok.
Model 3. 15 rounds, plus CC, but season ends mid January 2021.

I’m not sure about model 3, I think model 2 would work best.
Whichever model is used, I think Sky will have the last word. Games will be played to accommodate the transmission schedule.

9 rounds would be 11 for us as we are 2 games behind other teams?

to have integrity in the comp everyone would have to play everyone at least once!

I would then try a 8 team final series format (maybe old super 8's then top 2 GF ?)to give teams extra games and extra revenue on the gates as crowds should be back by then.

The bit about allowing a limited number of fans in from October poses a bit of an issue too.....do they just say season ticket holders only (this would obviously have a huge impact on matchday income), or home fans only, which, in our case would mean we could use the western terrace to 'social distance', or what ??

I'm kinda feeling like we ought to just run a mini season for the rest of this year and draw a veil over the beginning of 2020, just to tick the game over.
Pull the fixtures out of a bag for a sept/oct finish and call it a draw, the season is ruined anyway but it keeps the game running, the players training/playing and some measure of club function and activity in the sport
I don't think we're going to get a credible comp out of this season now so it'll be a bit of a treading water exercise for the game.

It would be a lot easier just to complete the season as suggested with the three options stated than mess around like that.

In reality, how is the season "ruined"?

We have no illusions that we would be at OT at the end, and unlikely to reach Wembley. We follow Trinity, not for glory, but for passion.

I would be very happy just to have games to watch and get back to some kind of normality.

Ruined would be not having any more RL this season. I'm happy with a compromised season, rather than no season.

Home fans only would be a sensible early step and then see how things go

As for which option - any - it will just be great to see the game starting up again
No pubs and no sport is no fun at all.

Let's just hope that "we" are on top of the virus and that there is no second wave

Would spectators (if allowed in) be permitted to stand in groups or keep to the social distancing rules? If the latter applies it would certainly take away a good 50% of the matchday experience, and how comfortable would you feel watching the game with the thought of picking up the virus hanging over you? If financially possible for the club to manage, I think the best thing would be to write the season off.

I'm in the extremely vilnerable catagory so I won't be attending any more games this season if it goes ahead.

Same here, I'm done for this season at least and possibly longer.

Why right the season off if - and it is if - we can "delay" the season?
We have more scope to do this than most other sports due the start of next season.
For those that can - or want to attend - then I would expect social distancing to be the norm.
If it was just home fans, then I think we'd be OK at Belle Vue with the West Terrance alos available to us.

Shudds fans will have to bunch-up to conform to Social Distancing requirements.

Going slightly O/T...for those wanting to watch some rugby this weekend, Sky are showing highlights of previous Magic Weekend matches virtually all day today and tomorrow on Sky Sports Arena, starting at 11.00am. Some programmes are only 15 minutes long whilst others are full matches. We are on tomorrow with our full match versus Cas from 2012 being shown at 1.00pm.

Just watched us v Catalans - tbh, a game we should have lost if Richards had brought his kicking boots!


Still cant believe Milky nailed that DG!




And as you say v the Inbreds tomorrow.... It will be nice to see it!
