Far be it from me to defend the Governments response to Covid, it's been patchy at best and questions will need to be asked once it's over. However, the pathetic finger-pointing, me me agenda-driven crud that has come from some has been in my opinion pathetic and pointless and at time embarrassing.

Both events are completely different but still require the same response, that roll one's sleeves up and get on with it, accept that mistakes have been made and will continue to be made but that as a whole the vast majority are doing their best. Save the autopsy for later, when it's appropriate and when we have time to think and then act.

The crux to this outbreak is not the mistakes made but how we learn and learn we must because it will return. I've lost two people so far, neither especially close but a shock all the same, but for now I',m not blaming anyone not even the Chinese, I blame only one thing for now and that's the virus.

PS: WW2 killed and affected far more people than Covid has or in its current form ever will, so if there is a conceit its that comparing the two greatly overrates one and hugely underrates the other, work it out.

Don't be confusing disagreement with outrage. I know you've got an agenda to drive but let's not exaggerate to try and prove it. Your post hasn't caused outrage it's caused a little chuckle and a response. This is what gives your agenda away. You don't like disagreement, you shut it down by calling it "outrage". The bald facts are that, despite getting a few weeks notice (with Italy getting hit first) the UK has the highest numbers of deaths in Europe so, keep chucking in your propaganda but, the government aren't doing all that well.

There is constantly a stockpile of naval ships and planes in case of the need to use them so that in the event on attack we are sufficiently equipped. In fact, Britain spent the bulk of the 1930s preparing for such an event as war. However, there hasn't been stockpiles of necessary equipment in the event of a public health crisis despite having the ran the simulations and knowing about the possibility of a pandemic for decades. So not sure which part of that particular analogy he thinks is even accurate

The problem is that the so called errors resulted in unnecessary deaths meaning we have one of the highest totals in the world. I note you criticise the fact that many cannot follow the instructions but listening to Johnson’s presidential appearance it was complete gibberish, which was pointed out be many.

I don't disagree with you, the Government's general response has been pretty shoddy, to say the least, and I suspect when the dust settles some swords will be fallen on.

The issue here is the reaction, not the event. The comparison is not with WW2 and COVID it's the response of agenda over practicality, why that baffles you is quite beyond me. Whoever originated the list was making that point rather than comparing the technicalities of the two events, I think that's pretty obvious despite your rather contrived attempt to make it seem otherwise.
