Many thanks Pop Tart, you have always been fair, my original post of " cost of testing " was a genuine discussion point for cost /expense to our club. It is well known we are not flush with spare money & we run a tight ship even when we have home revenue income on match days. Fair dues to MC, he will not discuss details of lost monies & future expenses playing behind closed doors !
But reality stands, every Covid test is to pay for by the club, each player, each member of staff & officials, from training, + all PPE, interestingly, Cost of PPE, has to date cost some care homes thousands, accepted they are extreme case, but you have by law a duty of care, the government are insisting this/these issues are observed, this will also include disinfecting changing rooms in a clean down + officials clean down etc, etc.
The whole subject is not simple in just playing behind closed doors, locked ground
All players per gov directives must have 2 tests per week irrespective of playing, it also applies to all staff & officials, testing is circa £170 - £ 180 pounds a time & pays for lab results & return etc, not to mention this country does not have enough Labs & has started sending samples to the US, this takes a couple of days longer etc
It therefore follows that playing behind closed doors, Duty of care, HSE compliance is going to be difficult & expensive to a club like ours that has little spare cash !
But we will have to get on with it & probably incur debt

They key will be how we get income for playing.
If Sky money pays for all that cost you list including player wages then it's a go-er. If not then it's a poor business case and we either need to get a pay per view option online for people or we wait.

The thing I find most worrying is that these nasal swab tests (nasalpharyngeal) are around 70% accurate. Patients have been swabbed multiple times coming back negative then low and behold a positive one pops up on a more invasive swab ie tracheal swab.
