| ok, so i've been on wiki (and bear that in mind) reading a few old player profiles with the aim of doing a where are they now thread but i digress. on david topliss page it states that whilst at oldham late in his career he took his jersey off during a game in reply to the home fans urging him to go 'topliss'. this resulted in him being banned for a year!
does anyone know of this? - is it made up, an elaborate april fool (it was yesterday) or did it actually happen - a years ban for that. looks like gubbins to me especially as it refers to wrexham
anyone know of any other obscure facts or even myths about the game that we can put out to others

| I vaguely recall that at a match at Knowsley Rd sometime in the eighties the whole Wigan team came out in the Saints away strip for the second half because you couldn't tell one side from the other because of the muddy conditions, and Wigan hadn't brought enough spare shirts!
True or false, I don't know and I can't find any reference to it.

That’s happened a fair few times through the years. I’m sure that one team actually turned up at a ground, maybe BV with no kit and had to borrow the home teams away strip. Wasn’t that long ago either, certainly SL era.

Don't recall it happening in RL but it's happened many times in football for various reasons, so I'm sure it will have happened in RL.
The obvious one being a colour clash and the away team (with only their clashing kit) has been forced to wear the home team's away kit.
France famously played a World Cup tie in the distinctly un-French colours of green and white stripes because they forgot to bring their blue shirts to the stadium and had to borrow a local team's kit.
I don't think rugby league refs have ever been as strict on colour clashes. Two I remember where one team should have been forced to change:
Hull vs Widnes 1991 Premiership Final
Warrington vs Leeds 2010 Challenge Cup Final (Warrington definitely had a red and green away kit at the time too)
I also remember seeing many Warrington vs Castleford games when Warrington have had a predominantly primrose kit where it has been difficult to pick the teams apart.

| In 2010 Warrington won the toss(or whatever it was)to wear their home kit in the final. The problem that year was that Leeds had an away kit in the same colours as their home strip!
Wire forgot their kit against cas once in the late 80s and had to play in their hosts away strip.

| Wasn't there a half-time kit change this season because they were so similar?

Leeds v Hull. Leeds changed in to their away strip at half time. Supposedly at the request of Sky.

| Bramley played at Hull once in a mudbath and the game got called of at half time because they could not tell who was who and the home side (Hull) had no spare kit . Suprise ,Suprise Hull were losing at the time . That is how i remember it , but it is a long time ago so maybe my mind is playing tricks ?

| HKR played at Cas some years ago (before SL), and if I remember correctly Rovers forgot their shirts so had to wear Cas away shirt.
