| Seen this mentioned in the press (from SL). Basically makes any rugby that is played pointless (Although I am not optimistic any will be played soon)

| Just the other day the Deputy Chief Medical Officer said the plan is to assess the impact of the lockdown every 3 weeks, probably for the next 6 months. That in itself suggests the chances of any sport being played in the immediate future is very slim. If we're looking (roughly speaking) at a September resumption then we wouldn't get many games played in 2020 - there's no way they can continue the season until Christmas because of the knock on effect to the 2021 season, and there's a RLWC that needs to be played at the end of that.
If those circumstances come to pass, it would be difficult to argue that such a short and disjointed competition justifies relegation/promotion.

| I think the 12 week period for older and more vulnerable people would be the earliest point for this lockdown to start being lifted. So that's mid June. I get the sense the resumption of spectator sport won't be happening any time soon. I work with a guy who is deputy chair of a large NHS trust. They are looking at the possibility of three waves of this infection. We're in the earlier stages of wave 1 with possibly another later summer and another in the winter. But they don't know enough about this virus to know for sure. Stay well everyone.

| There may not be any need for a team to be relegated. If this lockdown goes on for too long, clubs without a benefactor with deep pockets, may well go out of business.

That's why the Club (David) needs to hold his nerve and, with support of the faithful, try and avoid player furloughing if possible. Let's be honest, in the club's budget, they can hardly rely on money through the gate, and if as James indicated, there are ways of us helping the club then even better. If we can come out of this mess with everyone in good health, a committed and motivated player group and a more respected and appreciated fan base, then that sets up nicely for the end of season push whatever that looks like, with hopefully at least one promotion slot available.

| For any business it makes sense to furlough staff if they have no income.
But on topic, despite talk in the RL press about plans for season resumption and going into next year possibly with need to conclude the season due to contractual reasons, cant see it happening!
Latest thoughts out are this thing will roll on 6 to 9 months, lockdown will be eased and tightened as needed.
It's going to be 12 months before large gatherings to watch sport is allowed.
SL clubs with a large wage bill for full time players that usually have decent gate receipts you could argue are in a worse position than the smaller part time clubs.
So yep have to agree, reckon there are a few clubs out there that could disappear sadly.
Let's see!

Absolutely right mate except the club do rely on the gate, no matter how small that amount can be at times with the lesser supported away teams etc. That has been the purpose of me trying to find ways for the fans to help where they can. That in itself doesn't sit well with us knowing some people are struggling themselves so it is a difficult time all round.
What is evident though is that the fans are in this with the club for the duration so we just have to sit it out, keep each other entertained, and hope that soon we are all having a beer in the sun at Trailfinders wondering what all of the fuss was about!!

| Can only train at home for their own personal fitness. Think it's going to be interesting IF the season does get going how players have coped with restricted training facilities

| Not sure why no relegation is being talked about. Assuming the season does resume, although it will be a revised format what's the reason for no relegation promotion? I would put money on had a certain team been in 3 wins they wouldn't give a toss about teams below them
