Yes , thats what i thought . We should hear something this week.

If the coronavirus is due to peak in three months time, it's hard to imagine how anything can change before then.

Even by the end of June, it's unlikey that rules on unneccesary social contact will be relaxed. Playing behind closed doors may be an option at that point but that will only get the fixtures played, it won't bring any revenue in.

The RFL isn't cash rich so they're not going to be able to subsidise clubs. Saving Super League clubs would almost certainly be their priority.

The whole world of rugby league could look completely different by the time the next ball is kicked.

The worst affected clubs will be the Championship clubs. At our level, on the whole, players are paid as they play. If we're not playing they won't be paid, so the players will take the hit. At Championship (upper half) and Super League players are more often salaried and will be getting paid regardless

I don't know for sure what the state of play is with the Dons but I have a feeling some will be on contracts that aren't 'pay as you play'.

Hopefully, the financial structures of Club Doncaster will leave us in a better position to cope than will be the case for some other clubs.

Spent 10 hours yesterday in Tenerife South Airport , after the previous day locked in our hotel . My point is, its only a game !
It does mean a lot to all Doncaster fans although many have lapsed .

Not heard anything official.

Gary Hetherington has sparked some controversy saying that Super League teams should play three games a week when the game returns and that player welfare isn't an issue.

The official site shows the Hunslet match on the 10th April as postponed. Think it will be much later .

An announcement must be imminent .

I'd be surprised to see much before June

Earliest date for professional sport resuming is 1/6/20.
Reading between the lines with regard to RL , i can only see Super Duper League returning in 2020 & only behind closed doors .

As lower league rugby is only sustainable due to people paying at the gate, it's hard to see how leagues below Super League can return before 'gatherings' are permitted, and that ain't going to be anytime soon.

The pathway out of this crisis may become a little clearer over the next few weeks as we start to see how much the virus rears its head again across Europe as lockdown measures are relaxed. If it stays quiet, there's hope. If it takes off, we could be back to square one.

With footballers testing positive in Germany, meaning the whole team has got to self isolate, it shows how difficult it is for team sports to cope with this situation. Had they played a match before testing positive, I assume anyone they'd played against would also have to then go into isolation. It could all become very 'stop, start' even with government approval to play. Two weeks of quarantine, and then a week back training before their next match, could make for a very long season!

I'm trying to stay positive throughout all of this but I'm also trying to be realistic too. If we can watch the Dons again in 2020, I'll be pleasantly surprised but I've more-or-less written off this year. My immediate hope is that all clubs can survive this.

The clubs outside of SL seem to have agreed (on the whole) to scrap this season altogether, although it needs officially discussing and voting over which I believe is on Wednesday. Personally I would support this, it almost seems certain now that there will be no P&R, and any reintroduction would be behind closed doors. Why would clubs waste money and risk the safety of their players for no reason.

If a game is played to no one and nothing can be achieved, does it make a sound?

Wednesday - RFL have set up 2 working groups to look C & C1 chances of resuming the 2020 season.

Super League HOPE to resume in August.

Let's hope they can. Nothing can be predicted with any certainty at the moment. For better or worse, the world will no doubt look considerably different by August.

I'd suspect we're all hoping for the best but feeling somewhat guarded against getting too optimistic.

Today (25/6/20) Championship & Championship 1 clubs are meeting to discuss the 2020 season.
