| I’d hope no one would ask for a refund considering the financial disaster COVID-19 will have on our sport.

That would be the behaviour of a complete merchant banker. I would strongly hope none of our supporters or those of other clubs would either.
Even for the frugal Yorkshireman that is a step too far surely?

I don’t know if it’s possible for the club to introduce a new scheme at this time of year, similar to the current connect 6, I think it’s called, where I, and others pay £26 per month, for the next year’s season ticket, and includes the club lottery. Just think, a 1000, fans paying £26 per month £312,000 for the year, would go a long way to keeping the club afloat in these troubled times.

You would hope not.
Depending how this thing pans out, it's time for everyone that can afford to, to stock up with Trinity Merch and put some money through the clubs till.

| I wouldnt blame any season ticket holder requesting a refund of some kind. Some famalies will also find the going difficult. People are already being sent home from work and to suggest they should not ask for a refund seems crazy. Its all down to individual choice.

I understand where you are coming from.
However, those of us with season tickets bought them knowing the cost and once purchased, you effectively write that money off.
If 500 people asked for £500 each as refund, the club would fold.
I dont think that the club would either want to or have to refund anyone, after all, the fixtures could well be played anyway, even if there was a delay / break in the season.
I understand that there will very likely be hardship for people if they are off sick or laid off but, it would still be disappointing if anyone was to seek a refund.
If I was involved at the club, the best there would be, would be a credit note which could be used against a season ticket in the future.
Worth remembering that the players and staff at Trinity all need paying, which will be difficult enough if there is no match day revenue.

| We’ve already paid for season tickets and it would be extremely disappointing if any “supporter” tried to claim any money back. We should be doing everything to support the club where possible , joining club 1873, Trinity TV buying merchandise etc.

| Cicumstances for individuals will be different. If antibody finds themselves in a position of hardship i would like to think that the club would be willing to look into supporting that individual in any way it can. If that means providing a refund or credit note that would be great. I have no right what so ever to expect anybody to right the money off and a comunity based club should be evaluating the best way to accomodate season ticket holders who find themselves in unforseen hardship.

| Beleive it or not its what i beleive .
I also know that the vast majority of season ticket holders will wait and see what develops and are very unlikely to ask for a refund of any type.

You seem to be missing the point that the season tickets have [ialready[/i been paid for.....
So how is it "unforeseen hardship" for those who have one?

| Sirry but its you thats missing the point. Unforseen hardship rekates to people sent home from work fir a period of time. I already know of delivery drivers :
, catering staff that have no work at the moment.

Being sent home from work doesn't mean you are not being paid. I'm one of those people.
The hardship is more likely on small traders who have no customers.... Much like Trinity.
But in this case I don't know why a refund is even a discussion. As far as I know the games are being deferred so your season ticket would still allow you to see games later in the year.

I understand people will find this difficult and it is down to individual choice, but it's kind of the same choice as when it comes to bulk buying and putting your own selfish needs over other people/local businesses imho - we're all in this together. If you have a family and literally scrimping together every penny then then fair enough, then I wouldn't fault people for asking for a refund - but I can guarantee some people will ask for a refund just because they can....

A very naive statement. If you are on a zero hours contract like many in the leisure industry you won’t be getting paid. If you are self employed you won’t be getting paid. £94 pound a week statutory sick pay doesn’t go far if you are hourly paid and catch the virus either. And thats without those that lose their jobs altogether.
As for the argument and can see a point and i think plenty will ask for either their money back or a heavily discounted ticket next season. You buy a ticket for an event and in return you expect to see a performance. The season ticket is effectively a 14 game entrance agreement between you and the club and there hsve only brrn two of those provided to date. Theatres are currently closing and cancelling shows, likewise music concerts and people with tickets are rightly being refunded. People with plane bookings are getting their money back as their flights are grounded. Sport can be no different. If the season can be finished then fine, there is no obligation to refund. But if it is forced to be cancelled then the club (and/or even the RFL) should have cancellation insurance in place to cover these losses for instances like these and should be able to offer refunds. Claiming on that means neither party loses out.

| Have the government actually banned it though? Or advised people not to go and then RFL/SL have made the decision to stop the games?
If so then insurance won't cover it, much like the theatre business the PM has advised people not to go but hasn't banned it.
They are more or less screwed because they can't claim anything back.

If the governing body shuts down games (and eventually cancels) then that should be enough for individual clubs to invoke an insurance claim. They have been prevented from operating by an external organisation.
As for theatres, pubs etc at this point its not an official ban but it will come as people won’t adhere strictly enough to the guidelines. Give it 3 weeks and most things will be shut down.

Fair enough.
One thing for sure this is going to change the way we live our lives for quite a while and it is likely to be a weird few months.
