I wonder sometimes if when giving out the 19 CC is pretty sure say Westerman won’t play but leaves him in there because he is an important player to seed doubt in the opposition. Although Powell may know through the grapevine that Westerman probably won’t play he can’t be totally sure, gamesmanship in other words.

I don’t claim to know this by the way, just wondering out loud.

I hope King makes the squad so we can rotate Tanginoa out into the 2nd Row where he belongs.

Never a bad thing to keep a winning squad together.
As a player in any team, there is nothing worse than getting dropped just because a certain player is fit again.
The only exception I would make in our squad is Fifita but, generally, players should have to fight to get their spot back and if the side know that they will play next week if they win, there is extra incentive for all of the players - as long as they dont burn out but, that shouldn't be happening on game 3 of the season.

Really, really looking forward to this one and just hoping that we can end the Cas hoodoo.

In express he did say that any player wanting to displace members of last weeks squad would have have to prove themselves. Pretty sure westerman will play as if he wasn't going to could have brought green in, sounds like Dave was a doubt but along with green and walker will all be fit for salford - hopefully they still won't be able to get into the squad .........

Pretty much agree there Wrencat, slightly surprised too, that Fifita not back in yet, especially when Chessie mentioned him last week in the press conference.

I would also like to see King get in, to release Tanginoa from the front row, so he can play a wider role

Yeah thats the conundrum, It breaks my heart to see Tanginoa doing the donkey work at prop, Ashurst is arguably the best player at the club and Pitts was incredible in the last game. I'd just like the option to move Tanginoa wider so would probably drop Batchelor for King to give us that option.

Absolutely....just watched it back on Trinity TV and both were outstanding.

Well I'd certainly like to see King, maybe Atkins on the bench, they were energy sapping conditions and with a short turnaround it could play a part. Ordinarily I do agree about Tanginoa, but the squad is overloaded with forwards isn't it?! And still no Green, Fifita & Arona, so some real selection headaches coming up!!

Arona was standing next to TC for the duration of the Wire match and TC asked him when he would be back....he replied 3 weeks.

Feki, Milner, Foster, Eden, Moors. Plus I doubt JSL will play.

Let's stop worrying about opponents having full teams out .H K R had 3 main forwards out they smash us.Wires had very near a full team out ,because of the attitude of our team we won .It will depend on the attitude of our team wether we beet Cas or not

On this we agree. In the modern full time game an average number of injuries shouldn’t stop any team playing. Yes key injuries means you can’t play to your absolute best but you can still play with commitment and professionalism.

Injuries are an issue obviously but they can’t be allowed to become an excuse.
