Quote ="Trainman"The easiest way would be to put the overseas quota/non fed trained up to 7.'"
How does that work legally as in these players are now foreign nationals?
From the linked article above:
"In cricket, the England and Wales Cricket Board has informed clubs that all Kolpak registrations will be terminated at the end of the 2020 season. "
Seems fair enough to me. Or do people who voted for Brexit because they think we have too many immigrants think RL should be made a special case? Rather hypocritical if so.
Of course just doing as cricket does, doesn't stop the Kolpak players applying for visas to come and work here just as any other person from outside the UK can but why should we increase the quota? The Kolpak thing was always a loophole that has been exploited far too much in my opinion with some clubs such as Bradford used to, taking the mick with how many they had on their books.
Five overseas players is plenty and if in a year that leaves the sport and some clubs with an issue, well that is just one of the unintended consequences of Brexit.
