Mate of mine used to be a Labour councillor in Chorley, been in his office a couple of times as a result. He has/had framed Wire and Bolton Wanderers shirts hung up on display, so he definitely wasn't there supporting Wigan! |

Why he never has been knighted is beyond me when during the time he was involved in the game, both Wigan and the game in general got more national coverage in the national media than it does now.
When you look at some the Queens Birthday and New Year Awards, it makes you wonder how so many others get honours for sod all! |

Doug Hoyle was born in Warrington and is a former Chairman of the club. Lindsay was born in Adlington and like his Father also supports Warrington, but also supports Bolton Wanderers.
Both live in Chorley. |
