Wigan's moral compass seems to have changed at least. How about they parade victims of glass attacks at a game which they seemed to find acceptable a few years ago.

I’ve got no time or understanding of what Folau has said but any club that tries to take the moral high ground is on thin ice in my view.

As Marty said Wigan are playing a guy who has made homophobic comments on the pitch. When they go to Catalan perhaps Gausch may make the game a tribute to the victims of drink driving, or for a group helping students who have been the victims of violent assaults.

Similarly, Leeds cannot pretend to be on any high pedestal, we are playing a guy who has carried out an assault on a female partner.

I’d hope that at every ground there would be a few rounds on “There’s only one Keegan Hirst” whenever Catalans play. The fans need to be very clear that this kind of intolerance, dressed up in religious robes, is not welcome in our sport.

SL has allowed druggies & women beaters into its comp with open arms so it had nowhere to go in this instance.

Funny yesterday listening to Ian Lenagan on 5 Live drive time. He admitted Wigan looked at signing him but they had no cap space left.

And that smacks more of a hypocrite after announcing the Pride day then anything else.
He should have kept that one quiet.
Quite a few players coming to Wigan and other SL grounds have the same views as Folau but get away with it by not speaking up.

Whilst not excusing what Zac did in the slightest, and he does come across as the archetypal 'big daft lad', i think there is a difference between saying something stupid in the heat of the moment, and repeatedly posting what does amount to hate speech against a particular part of the community on your social media platforms.

So aggressively calling a gay person a homophobic term in a heated exchange is not as bad as a person holding old fashioned religious beliefs believed by millions world wide?

That will probably excuse what Bateman did when glassing someone too. All in the heat of the moment. Perfectly reasonable, rational, excusable behaviour then. Wigan was right to stand by their guy then.
