Basically a playoff for the playoffs, ywp good sides on paper. both capable of a great performance, both equally capable pf a stinker. Thaler referee, Hicks V.R, definitely got tje potemtial to be one of the better SL games this season.

I thimk we (FC) will just scrape it.

A few months ago I genuinely thought Hull could end up both in the cup final and the GF. Now they're in serious danger of missing out on the playoffs entirely. They should have been fired up last week and put a poor Huddersfield side to the sword, and look what happened.

Very difficult result to call tonight because you never know what sort of performance Hull are going to come up with.

Difficult one to call. Part of me says home advantage should favour Cas, the other says that if the game is tight and attritional - which it might well be - then Hull will be the better equipped. I've never been totally sold on Powell as a coach as his sides seem to lack the nuts and bolts that are so often needed.

In fact, forget the bit about the bolts.

A lot (for Hull) depends on IF Kelly is fit and firing. If he is, it should be a Hull win. Hull play better and with more freedom when they play away from home. Should be a decent following from Hull tonight, but its a shame it got moved from the Sunday (original fixture date) as I think Hull would have brought about 2500 with them.

IF Kelly is fit, that is a big IF, and IF he starts, I hope he lasts the whole game. You are right about it being a shame it was moved, it should have at least been the Friday game, KR v London tonight would have been better, home game for KR and very few London fans will make the trip, no matter what day it was played, a yelevised game gets lower crowds as it is, but a Thursday night away televised game for the team with the best away support in SL is nonsense.

Phil Clarke continues to outdo himself. Apparently GB won’t need Hastings with the way Trueman is playing. First time I’ve seen Trueman play well for a long time, he shouldn’t even be in the performance squad never mind the final one.

Jake Connor has so much talent, but he just wastes it spending all game picking a fight. There’s one thing “getting under the skin” of the opposition, but it’s got the the point where the only one who is getting wound up and put off his game is Connor.

Might do him some good to get pinged, you’re right clearly a player with a lot of talent but he’s always looking for something.

Cas looking half decent at about the right time of year.

Hull are a very goid side on their day, but just awfull other days, play off spot lost now with a wimper. Cas played well but Hull offered nothing.

Point proven. The only player who can manage to get himself binned after 77 minutes when the game is done, before arguing with his own teammates as he walks from the field.
The Cas pack were just laughing at him.
He’s like a petulant teenager who doesn’t know when to shut his gob.

Trueman is 20 years of age and has more of less single handedly guided Cas around this year with gales absence. He is an absolute class act and thoroughly deserves his call up.

Clearly problems in the Hull dressing room with Connor seemingly in the thick of it.

Minichello has been nothing but a model proffessional in his 5 years at Hull and I dont recall seeing him lose his temper on the pitch, but was absolutely seething at Connor when he was sinbinned.

Truman was likened as the new Roger Millward tonight, by guess who? Anybody hear it?

That said, Truman did have a good en' but if he's half as good as Millward, then he'll be one of the best players in the World.

Hull should take the £500k Leeds are rumoured to be offering and spend it on someone who actually wants to play Rugby rather than act a clown and the big man.

One day he will wind up the wrong person and end up with his face caved in. At that point he will fade into obscurity just like Fielden did.

Probably a bit unfair on fielden that.

Yep - he’s completely brainless.

If I had to guess I'd say he's probably still sulking about being dropped to the bench a few weeks ago. Think it might have been around the time of the cup semi final?

Connor strikes me as the sort of player who could do really, really well under a good coach who can control his temperament. Unfortunately for him right now he's playing under Lee Radford.

Unless Saints choose to rest more than half the squad, as is our right, I can't see Hull having the quality to beat any professional side. They are terrible. I don't understand why particularly, there are some really good players in that side and they should be up there as genuine contenders this season.

Hull have had one of the best squads throughout Radford's tenure. They have the individual talent to beat any side but never the consistency. I can't believe he is still in the job.

The cup wins plus I can't imagine he's a highly paid coach . But I agree the individuals in that side and the levels of consistency are crazy
