In his first appointment as a Super League Head Coach at Hull KR, Chris Chester was briefly successful before failing and being fired by the demanding Neil Hudgell . Then Chester almost immediately got the Head Coach position at Wakefield, in early 2016, and was briefly successful, taking the team to 8th in 2016, and to 5th place in 2017. But he is now failing miserably. His days at Wakefield are numbered.

What will happen to him after he is fired by Wakefield? He must be on a decent salary there. He is unlikely to get a coaching position at another Super League club, given his resume. He cannot earn much money as a coach in the Championship I assume. A very sad career trajectory for a man who is regarded as a very nice chap. I wonder why he has twice gone from diamonds to rocks?

He only has one game plan. It had a little success last season but given the rule changes this season it has been nullified.

He’s a dreadful coach. Having a decent squad masked his deficiencies for some time but now he’s being exposed. 9 defeats in 10 surely have to see him sacked.

But how did he do reasonably well before this year?

Wakefield need to bring back John Kear.
Short term measure, but he has a proven record of having an immediate impact. It’s never sustained, but if he can keep Wakefield up then he is worth a contract until the end of the year,

Strange as some of these experts seemed to know so much that they didn't bless us or warn the Wakefield fan base of the wisdom they have earned playing Rugby League Manager 2018 .

Well they finished above giants for 2 years and beat them a couple of times so that was job done, signing Brough to finalise there all conquering squad was a masterstroke by him - the Referee's and the RFL have so far stopped them sweeping all before though
there board is great entertainment though this year as they realise maybe ther arent as good as they thought.
