Ganson considering NRL switch

Head of RFL referees Steve Ganson has been offered the position of head of NRL referees Down Under, report League Weekly.

The former international and Super league referee is reported to be seriously considering the offer – especially with all the battles going on between the RFL and Super League at the moment. Tony Archer has recently left his post as head of NRL referees and it appears that Graham Annesley has offered Ganson the role.

Why all this hostility towards M. Ganson? Is it because he has relatives living in Toulouse?

It's because his son plays for Wigan, proving that the RFL are biased towards us.

Dont forget he has seen Toronto on a map.

You'd presume it's more money, in a better league and a country that actually takes RL seriously. RL in this country is embarrassing IMO and although the standard seems to be getting better the competition is still miles behind.

Thats why Ganson should stay he fits the bill perfectly.

Will you give this downtrodden French thing a rest. Not everything revolves around you.

For me 'tracking the wrong player' when literally everyone in the stadium and watching on TV saw it is just one reason amongst many that it's laughable he is still linked to ANY refereeing position.

I'd take Ganson back as a full time referee every day of the week compared to the rest

Ganson has selective refereeing skills...... Never trusted him and he never enjoyed reffing in London

He turned up to referee Quins v Saints at The Stoop with his son dressed in a Saints top. Bizarre

On more than one occasion he got a lift down to London with the away team....and I'll never forgive him for the FC game at Brentford in July 2003.

What did he do?

Last play of the game and Dennis Moran chopped ahead and was tackled without the ball with nobody between him and the ball/try line. Ganson was 5 yards away from. It and was the only one of 4,000 who didn't see it..... Even the FC fans were stunned. Cost us a home play off that year.....

Ganson was wearing a Saints top during the game....that was the real give away

But are they the level they are because of Ganson and his role as head of referees. If Ganson goes I could see Bentham taking his role given his age and his injury problems he’s had in recent years.

Bentham won't get injured now Widnes are in the championship.
