Why wasn’t the Fiji PNG game held in Port Moresby instead of a suburb in Sydney?

We saw at the World Cup the PNG fans are passionate and turn up in big numbers, they sold out every game at the World Cup.

The Costs associated with protection of players ($10,000 a player is the charge by security firms for the Roo XIII matches) whilst there, as well as the travelling costs.....oh, and most of the players are based in 'stralia anyway and it was easier (and cheaper) to UBER them all to the stadium for the double header

These Pacific Island Test matches between PNG, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga are now, hopefully, an annual event in Sydney. They were played in Western Sydney where thousands of these islanders live. I enjoyed the day out with great atmosphere produced by the 4 competing team supporters. Tonga were outstanding in their defeat of Samoa and carried on with their World Cup form.

Yesterday I went to the SOO 2 match which was a cracker. Probably will rate as the most watched TV programme so far this year. Only downside to the result was that I am a Qld supporter!

The majority of the PNG squad play for the PNG Hunters based in Port Moresby

I could be wrong but dont the Hunters play a block of games in Australia & then a block in PNG to save on travel, So they are all spending a fair bit of time in QLD so they may have been based here at the moment

WHy is there no uproar from Leigh fans about this?
