| Have we got any idea yet what's happening in the World Club Challenge yet next year?? I know they've mentioned 2 games here, 2 in Aus, any idea anyone please?? Would be great to see Melbourne again, or the Sharks. We may get hammered but always a pleasure to watch anyway

| Could be on either side of the world and may be down to two teams. They will probably decide to have it on a Thursday night a few days beforehand.

| Not saying this is confirmed but the Warrington Guardian reported during last weeks game with Hull.
[iBREAKING NEWS:
A place in next year's World Club Series is at stake tonight.
While the Guardian understands negotiations are continuing as to whether the 2017 series will feature two, three or four teams for each hemisphere, the winners of the League Leaders' Shield will join the Super League Grand Final winners in the event.
Third place will be awarded to the Grand Final runners-up, and fourth place goes to the Challenge Cup winners.
It becomes more complicated if any one team wins more than one prize, but the key news for Wolves is that a win tonight will secure their place in the series.
Confirmation is also awaited as to whether the series will take place in Australia or England.
All details are expected to be officially announced after the Super League Grand Final.[/i

| I don't suppose Hetherington wil be leading the negotiations like last year unless the Aussies fancy playing 12 matches.

| I'd rather go back to 1 game. 1 team from each comp, representing their country, with everything resting on that one game.

3 or 4 games is OK in theory, *if* the games are going to be competitive. The results in the last two seasons have shown us that, regrettably, that is not the case. In the light of that, I agree the extra games add nothing and should be abolished.

If already does rest on oneq game. Only one match from the three has the WCC trophy up for grabs.
I happy for it to continue as it is. Yeah last year want competitive but don't see why we should give up playing the NRL clubs.
If the NRL clubs are keen to keep it as it is then see no reason to change.

Agree with this, really enjoyed our game (Wire) v St George it's up to our clubs to up the ante and the best way to improve standards is to play better opposition

| Don't want to make excuses, the Aussie clubs were excellent and ruthless this year but all three SL clubs were struggling with plenty of injuries and lots of key players missing and we all know that our sides can ill afford to be less than at full strength to compete. Hopefully the sides that play next year will get that bit of luck at least and they should be better spectacles.

I know its a joke, but it has been Hetherington and Moran leading the discussions up to now so i assume that has carried on.

| So Melbourne have said unless it commercially attractive they probably will elect to not play.
Agree with Lenagan when he says that it is crazy that with 4 months to go the WCC is still not finalised.

| Would love Hull FC to get a game - if our pack was full strength, and fresh, then it would be good to see how it goes against a Canberra or Melbourne side

The cowboys certainly didn't treat the WCC as a training exercise and you can guarantee that the sharks wouldn't either.

| I'd like to see it continue, it's great to get the chance to see NRL teams play over here. Granted this year was a massive let down but I don't accept that SL teams have no chance of winning when Wigan took Brisbane to golden point and Warrington only lost by 6 last year, a bit of luck and we would have won that series.

Or some that see everything in a negative light, which is a shame.
Having the opportunity to watch some of the best players in the world live isn't something that comes around very often, even if my team isn't involved.

Yep and really don't see why people would rather that opportunity be taken away.

Little Englanders unfortunately.
They're the same bunch who bemoan playing tests against France, bemoan Scotland being in the 4N's, bemoan Catalans & Toulouse in the leagues, and will be doing a lot of moaning next year regarding Toronto.
They just love to pour negativity on something that should be celebrated and supported for our sport.
"Nah, can't be d going to watch the likes of Thurston or Inglis down the road, I'd rather go on an internet forum and moan about the concept being uncompetitive instead".

Interesting to note that its a cas fan back there sacking it off, if they ever get their fingers out and get a new ground, they'll reap the benefits of such, for example, as a wire fan i got to see New Zealand v Australia at the HJ, that still blows my mind as a long term rugby league fan.
I love going to new grounds i've never been before, i love playing new teams i've never seen us play in my 20 something years watching.
I got to see Billy Slater, Akuila Uate,Willie Tonga Chris Lawrence Darius Boyd Darren Lockyer (c)Johnathan Thurston Paul Gallen Cameron Smith Matthew Scott Luke Lewis Sam Thaiday Anthony Watmough Cooper Cronk Keith Galloway David Shillington Tony Williams Kevin Locke Kalifa Faifai Loa Lewis Brown Gerard Beale Jason Nightingale Benji Marshall (c) Kieran Foran Ben Matulino g Issac Luke Sam McKendry Sika Manu Simon Mannering Jeremy Smith Thomas Leuluai Fuifui Moimoi Alex Glenn Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
all on my doorstep.
Last year i got to see the St George Illawara dragons, i'm never going to get to australia as far as i can see, this is fantastic to have them playing in Warrington, and people complain as well as about repetitiveness in Superleague, surely this adds a bit of variety to the season.
Just because your club doesn't stand a chance of being in it, don't write it off, trust me if cas tigers were in it, you'd have a different opinion.

| the WCC makes money, is attractive to TV companies and sponsors, gets relatively large attendances and for RL it has huge visibility. I understand why some fans dont like it.
