This is a great bit of news. Talksport promote the backside off all their coverage and this will undoubtedly take the game out to a new audience. Hope they get the right pundits in.

Any extra coverage of rugby league is always positive, especially when it is a deal to cover so much of our great game like this.

It is great news. But it won't be proper rugby league coverage unless their pundits irritate the t!ts off at least 75% of the audience.

It's always irritating when the other sports get so much coverage on Talk Sport and we don't (assuming because they already had a deal)

Presumably this won't impact on the existing BBC local radio coverage and is an "as well as" rather than "instead of"?

Odd that Brian Moore's "Fighting Talk", the station's flagship programme for all things related to both codes of rugby, had no RL presence this week to preview the start of the new season. Instead it was pretty much entirely devoted to the Six Nations kick-off.

Would be great to include championship talk too as it will help spread the
awareness of the existence of clubs outside the M62 corridor.

Does anyone know the impact of this on Radio Yorkshire? They used to be my 2nd choice rugby coverage station after Radio Leeds. With them being digitally available (online) it is much easier to listen to them now. I guess TalkSport 2 will only be available on DAB/online?

I must admit I've never been a big fan of Talk Sport, they always struck me as seeing football as the be all and end all of sport, play to the mass popularity market. However with this news I'm willing to give them a try on matchdays.
