| The thing about Marwan is he came in giving it large and saying he was gonna change the game and what have you and people expected him to do it too fast. It takes time to build a league winning team and while I don't particularly like the man myself, if he can build a team that can challenge then great! The more teams we have challenging at the top the better and more exciting the game will be!

| yes, but so far it's been a disaster.Salford are in no better place than they were when he took over aside from the fact he obviously saved them financially. The playing side of things thwy are as far away as they ever were from breaking into the top 4, hell even top 8 at the present seems fanciful at best.I do wish them well still, but the ranting Dr needs to just take a step back and let things develop behind the scenes a bit because surely it's clear now that throwing cash at a few merceneries and expecting silverware is not the way to go.Then again, maybe not.

People didn't expect too much from Koukash, he promised far too much in far too short a time.
He put a lot of people's backs up pretending that he knew best and everyone else were mere amateurs compared to him.
He made poor recruitment decisions.
He treated players and staff like sh|t leading to low morale and poor performances.
He put Salford into a very poor business position through not paying suppliers.
I really, really hope he turns Salford into a major force in RL. The more teams competing at the top the better and a big club in Manchester would be a big bonus to RL.
Hopefully recent history, the comments from many in the game especially McDermott's and the appointment of Tim Sheens means he'll utterly change the way he operates, otherwise nothing will change much.

| Don't see how he's brought anything positive to RL personally. Even letting everyone in free I think he failed to get 10,000 in didn't he?
Unfortunately different sports are settled in different areas of the country, and for Manchester it will simply always be football. Anyone could have told him he was wasting his time (though clearly he is not the type of guy who would have listened).
I still believe he'll pull out in a way that leaves them on of the brink of disaster.

Soccer will definitely dominate, it's true. However, for a period when they were successful back in the 1970s Salford's average home gate was more than 7,000, and this at a time when the likes of Leeds, Saints and Pies didn't get many more. No reason why they could not attract 8-10k if they had a competitive side and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether the latter, with the current shortcomings of the stadium, is achievable, not sure I know.

| He came in full of bluster, shook things up, spent some money but ultimately that strategy didn't work.
Now he's got a proven head coach, reshaped the team, and seems keen to stuck with it rather than cut & run.
I still wish him all the best in his efforts to drag the game in a different direction and turn around the malaise that has happened at Salford.

| Might as well appoint himself as Head Coach whilst he's at it. I honestly don't see how people like him are good for the game.

| He was mad to take over the club.
Over 4 million in debt
Tenants in an ill placed stadium miles from the clubs tradtional fan base.
A sky high rent agreed by the previous ownership with no other option as they'd already sold their old place.
A team that hadn't seen real success for over 3 decades.
Other than a London based team it is the toughest gig in top flight RL.
But he had caught the RL bug and wanted to be involved, and to him that mean't owning a team.
He's outspoken antagonistic and made lots of mistakes which he's now admitted.
When arrived he had the ez boss of NZ RL , the ex NZteam coach and hired the ex GB coach and ex NrL CFO to advise and recruit.
God knows what they told him or whether he listened but following 3 seasons were eventful for all the wrong reasons.
So he blown a load of cash and hired people who for whatever reason haven't worked. At some point the penny dropped and he persuaded Tim Sheens to overhaul the development and playing side.and he's opted to get more involved in the business and marketing .
Ultimately he is responsible for what gone so far, can he be blamed? Sure for a portion, and his personality and abrupt manners won't change.
If you bear in mind the position of the club , it's still a tough job and there's still along way to go.

| MK is a different beast than when he first came into RL. He admitted that he didn't have the knowledge or expertise to jump straight in, so took advice and appointed people into positions where they let the Club down to varying degrees. He let his mouth rule when he should have held his hand up, and he himself didn't help matters that were going poorly. He freely admits his mistakes, which people seem to not bother quoting, and appointing Tim Sheens has been the best thing to happen to Salford in many years. It's allowed MK to stay away from areas he doesn't need to interfere in, and allows him to concentrate on off-field areas which, personally speaking, has been the best I've seen Salford ever do this off season.
Sheens has brought in his own style and culture to the Club which was sorely needed. He's shipped-off expensive personalities in favour of younger hungrier players, where he believes that hard teamwork will be the order of the day.
MK is marmite. As a Salford fan, I can see a massive difference between the Salford of the last few seasons to the one that has emerged at the end of the last season gone. The changes are that dramatic imo. I was ready to walk away for a while at points last season, but the direction, communication, and leap in professionalism in such a short time has won me back around. It doesn't matter to me whether we do much on the pitch next season. What's important is that the people running my Club are trying to get it to a position it's not been for a long time off the pitch. Self-sustaining, professional, with a strong youth set-up that can start bearing fruit in the long term. It's heading in the right direction, and that's credit to MK, Sheens, Watson and the other people working hard to change things.

David Hughes is more or less run the Broncos single handed for the last 10 years.
He can't do it all he needs help from the right people.

I think a more accurate statement is that he has [ufunded[/u the Broncos single handed.
The reason David Hughes hasn't had the right people to help him is that he won't take advice from anyone, makes terrible appointments, and is too stubborn to admit his mistakes.
We're in a real Catch 22. Without David Hughes' money the Broncos would have imploded some time ago, but with David Hughes administration of the club we're watching a death of a thousand cuts.
Like I say, hope Dr Koukash makes a better job of running a club now he's decided to be 'hands on'.

Doesn't sound great.
It's taken MK a few seasons to hold his hand up and accept he made errors, but at least he's done so. Since Sheens first came on board earlier in the season MK's antics almost stopped overnight. You could see that Sheens was as far as MK could go with regards to anything hands-on RL related and it's been a breath of fresh air to the fans, staff, players, and MK himself. It's like a different Club now.
I think it shows how you can go forward by taking your mistakes on the chin, and I hope it happens for London at some point.

Arguably we had higher profile signings in the previous two seasons 'on paper ' but so was the team spirit , and tracing paoer at that,
A lot was down to the handling of the squad, but the mix of personality was equally an issue.
They've ( Sheens & Watson ) have made a big play of team effort this season.
We'll see if they are right.

| He needs to,spend his money on a good quality CEO, a good marketing manager, they have got sheens as player manager and need a decent coach to build a team. Good clubs start with the office, something he seems to keep missing. He can't surely have the time to be a Hands on CEO and lead the management team at the club?

Sounds good for yourselves.
I must admit I always had an uncomfortable feeling that MK was going to get bored at some point, pull the plug, and leave Salford in trouble with contracts they couldn't fund. So if he's decided to calm down and plan long term, all the better.
