Just a quick post to see if there is anyone on this forum who can boast to not missing a rugby league game in a long while, like a couple of years? I'm doing a University assignment on the broad topic of 'fans' and would like to see if there is anyone willing for me to interview them about it and why they do it etc?

Last competitive league game I missed for Salford was Widnes at home 2005 when I was 16, I was on holiday in Tenerife. I was back for Leigh away the week after.

Since then I have missed a friendly away at Hull KR around 2010 (I think) and Catalan away in the challenge cup a couple of years back because there was no flights running.

There is a guy who posts on the Halifax forum who hasn't missed a game in a lot of years. Might be worth reposting this on there. Can't think of his username off the top of my head. Bentleyman possibly?

There's a Swinton Fan, John Spellman, posts on the other Widnes forum, dont think hes missed a Swinton game for about 30 years. Don't know if he is on here.

I've never met 'spelly' but I've heard of the legend. Respect. In this day and age when RL is full of arm chair fans who only show up for the big day out, respect to him for remaining loyal, bit of a character too from what I've heard.

I have a series link on Virgin Media so haven't missed a Friday night game in years.

I missed most of the game on Saturday. I was watching the Mexican wave. It was more interesting than the game.

Must say, I studiously ignored it; didn't want to encourage 'em. There was a Rugby League Test Match on.

I usually don't either, I like to watch the game. But this one was so stupendously dull and boring I inadvertently found myself watching the wave instead.
In the modern parlance, I didn't inhale though.
