Another gripe, not just from last nights game but over the past few seasons.

Why do refs no longer give 10 mins for a professional foul. I can only assume it's an RFL directive. I've seen it over and over again over the past few years and they are never given anymore. Toby was a prime example last night. Case made the break, he prevented a quick play the ball by knocking the cas player back down when he was trying to stand up. Should have been an easy decision for Thaler.

I don't blame Roby or Thaler as the frequency they are not give anymore suggests it must come from the RFL.

Or when Walsh through the ball wide from the play the ball & Ben Roberts intercepted whilst 5 metres offside. Try scoring opportunity with the overlap , 10 metres out. Sin bin?

You've failed to se my point. It's not about Roby, Roberts or anyone else last night as the decision not to use the sin bin is consistent with the decision not to use it over the past few years.

More to do with Refs not wanting to sin bin any player, usually get out of jail is on report, which doesn't help the team who are awarded the penalty, if its worth being on report surely its worth at least 5mins in the bin if not 10.

So it doesn't "spoil" the match when we have 13v13, seen it quite abit, Cobb when Bulls played Leigh first day of CH, if he had binned 2 players right away for fighting and taken control the match wouldn't have descended into a brawl multiple times.

Referees are not officiating the game properly in many areas at present.

I've seen five players in scrums, scrums with zero binding, scrums with four heads up, moving off the mark at the PTB completely ignored, diving in the ruck, eight and more players offside on goal lines, players running out of the defensive line well before the ball is played, swearing and full on screaming at the officials...I could go on...and the refs are just ignoring all of it.

It's consistently poor at present. They aren't enforcing the rules enough and just letting things go.

Enforce the rules properly and you'd get a cleaner game.

Penalise diving, penalise being sworn or screamed at, penalise players that are blatantly offside, penalise moving off the mark, penalise incorrect scrums, sin bin professional fouls...and the game will run smoother as players will know they can't get away with the antics they currently do.

I think refs or the referee panel watch State of Origin officiating and think "it's great to let the game flow" but over the course of a season and numerous games week-to-week, letting things go by being blasé to the rules and just ignoring stuff creates problems with constant gamesmanship rather than having a free flowing game.

It might look disjointed at first with the whistle blowing every two minutes but after a few weeks players will get used to playing correctly and smoother games will ensue and it will be more about the positive side of the game instead of the exasperation of controversy.

its not gonna happen though because the refs want a fast flowing game an the know by penalising every misdemeanor, then they are going to get complaints from fans, and coaches and probably disgruntled armchair fans on sky!

i am sure i saw at least 3 instances today of 5 men scrums and the ref just let it go!

Yet they've clamped down recently on defending teams breaking from the scrum early when the attacking team holds on for a second.

The opportunity to change this is available to you.

They are allowed to have 5 man scrums when a man has been sent off- was it in that period of the game???

the point is, that we have referee's but are declining to play to the rules/laws, i don't usually bag refs as i know it's a hard job and they make mistakes like everyone else,

however , one of your favourite gripes, how can the players learn to play by the rules/laws when the match officials don't?

it's not a dig at the players or the officials but as how the game is run where i'm concerned, the powers that be seem to be fine ignoring certain things in order to improve the viewing standard.
