Thomas Briscoe's 5 try record was disappointing to me. Had he scored three tries that would have been not so unusual in the modern game. But five tries is exceptional. Does he deserve the acclaim he has been receiving for this in the mass media?

Thomas Briscoe is an above average winger, but not a great winger. He is certainly not in the class of the really great wingers --- Brian Bevan, William John "Billy" Boston, Martin Offiah or Jason Robinson. I don't even think that he is as good as current star English wingers Ryan Hall or Joseph Burgess, who will likely be picked ahead of him in the next English team selection. The fact that Briscoe has marked for himself a special place in the record books, when playing against a very weak and eventually demoralised opposition, gives him a kudos that he doesn't really deserve.

I know you're trolling and doing it very poorly might I add but Briscoe's been the best winger in SL by a distance this season.
He was on fire before his injury and now, 2-3 games back, he's pretty much carrying on where he left off.

I was over the moon when Tommy went over for his 5th. That's 2 local lads (well fev) that hold 2 very important Wembley records now. If only the flat cappers could keep hold of their talent they produce. I suppose same could be said about most teams though.

For the record Tom took all his tries well and as a winger was in the right place at the right time and in my book is a great winger. Nothing should ever detract from his performance on the day.
