For all the slagging off this sport gets every once in a while the powers that be pull off a blinder. This is one of those times.

Things like this remind me that we do actually have a special sport, despite its other failings. Makes me proud to be associated with Rugby League.

I would imagine they've heard her singing before offering her the gig, just to be sure she could do it.

She might not end up being the strongest vocals to have ever sung it but I'm sure it'll be of good enough standard and will probably be the most emotional/memorable rendition. I can't remember who sang it last year, but I'll remember who sang it this year.

Will make a special occasion even more amazing.

The first Final I ever went to I think Bernard Cribbins did it. What a great idea and gesture from the RFL on this one.
