| I'm the biggest advocate of Catalan and having a French team in Super League, but we're not seeing enough French players get a chance in the team, they only seem to get a shot when the foreign players are injured.
Escare got a shot when the Brent Webb signing proved to be a disaster and considering the number of foreign players they have the team is under performing.
Cardace is the next player to come through the ranks and is having a great start to the season, but has now only got a run in the team due to injuries to a couple of Aussie three quarters.
I'd like to see more of Springer, Yaha, Maria, Schimona, Pala, Margalet and Milhoudi especially.

| hang on. Werent we told that by having a french team in SL that the region of catalonia would become RL mad? Catalans would have to play their home games at the nou camp due to the demand for tickets, La Masia would now home all the best rugby league players, not only in spain/france but the world and the french team would win the world cup? All thats happened is second rate aussies get a nice climate for their retirement fund
Regards
King James

Errrm, no.
But if that's what you think you were told, then by all means carry on trolling.

| They've had some of the best Aussies to come to SL in recent years. There are far worse Aussies running around the north of England week in week out thats for sure.
Robinson enhanced the French culture in the club. They now have a French coach and some top quality french players
I think they've been a success in many ways.

| What I find frustrating is that they haven't produced a half back since Bosc of the required quality.

They've been an outstanding success there's no denying that. They would be an even bigger success if they played more locals.

Because the 11 English Clubs in Super League are doing such a great job of producing half backs...

Whom was the last French half back to play SL? Fages? The English clubs haven't produced many good ones but they've still produced halves of a decent SL standard in the last 8 years.

He was only a youngster then and was pushed into the team ahead of schedule. To be honest I reckon this season is make or break time for him, he's a bit older now and has a quality centre inside, no excuses.

Catalans have played their French junior William Barthau a few times when the foreign halves were injured (Barthau is now at London Broncos, albeit yet to play because of injury).
Catalans wanted to sign Maxime Greseque -- who had already played a starring role at Featherstone Rovers -- as a half back/five eighth in 2006, but Maxime's controlling father wouldn't allow him to play for a club chaired by the father's former personal half back rival Bernard Guasch.
Now there are other young French halves coming through. They need to be given a chance. However with the one French club determined to buy top class Australians as halves, they don't get that chance at Catalans. Another reason why we need a second French club. Another reason why English clubs need to scout in France, rather than in the Antipodes.
