| Jamie Soward, in an interview with Brad Fittler, broadcast on the "Sunday Footy Show" on Channel 9 in NSW and QLD, last Sunday September 28th, was asked to reflect on the highlights of his career. In the course of his answer he stated without prompting that the time he spent in London before arriving at Penrith was "the best three months of my life."
This is an amazing statement from a man who was and still is an acknowledged star of the NRL. That he could feel that way while playing at a club that was so badly mismanaged and badly resourced, with so few talented players around him, is testament to the significance of London in our culture, and is a screaming rebuke to those who have considered a London Super League team not a valuable asset to our game. There is no reason why London could not be a magnet for NRL stars, as well as quality northern England players, and the best talents of southern England, if it had been managed well by its owners and the RFL. Now, thanks to the new competition system promulgate by Nigel Wood and his cronies, London Broncos is left to wallow in the Championship, playing before tiny crowds in a ground unfit for even semi-professional players, and with a difficult road to promotion back into Super League.
What a shame that nobody at Red Hall gives a damn!

| I have not seen the interview but i would imagine he is refering to it as 'the best three months of my life' because it gave him the opportunity to get away from the pressure cooker NRL/Aussie/Sydney media circus and get his head straight and revitalising himself in a zero pressure enviroment, before returning in a new frame of mind.Which it obviously did as he and Penrith have had a great year.

| He was probably out romping like a rabbit every night (hence the statement), knowing damn well he could turn up on match day, perform to a low level and it would barely get recognised due to how poor London were.

| I'd like to think it was the best three months because of the club, but I suspect the nightlife may have had something to do with it.

The above link should take you to the Sunday Footy Show website and the item. Rather than the night life I'd tend to agree more with Biff as to why. Not sure the departure from St George was all love and roses. He came here and was allowed to play his game. We saw the benefits of that and Penrith certainly have this year.

| I saw Kieran Foran this afternoon at the Oaks pub in Neutral Bay. He said that his brother Liam is looking forward to going to London. When I mentioned the quote cited, Kieran's mates joked that they thought that Soward was out with the girls every night (whether they knew or were speculating I don't know).

| Shouldn't this be on london's forum?
Capdouze's ability to post rubbish involving Catalans/London on here knows no bounds.
It's like it's mandatory every thread he starts has to involve catalans or london in some way, but mainly catalans.

So why put unfounded speculation on a public forum? This is a married man you are talking about

I am sorry. I didn't know that he was married. If I had known I never would have mentioned it.
Jamie Soward seems like a lovely young man so I am sure that he would not do anything that threatened the sanctity of his marriage.
Next time I am at The Oaks I will ask Kieran Foran's friend not to speak so recklessly about such an iconic figure.

London always played in front of tiny crowds so no change there...
Also they finished bottom of the pile so they were relegated and rightly so.
London have been funded and allowed dispensation on overseas quota for years and never played on a level playing field.
Oh Poor London have a difficult road back to promotion.....

The people at Red Hall are not interested in having a Super League club in London anymore. While at the same time they bent over backwards to help Bradford.

| Soward was worth the admission fee alone last season, the most exciting player to play for London since Mark McLinden! I just hope his love for London means he'll come back if we get back into SL!
