| Wish we had a choice like that if our first choice fullback ever got injured and missed a four nations tournament.

| Hayne will play at fullback with Inglis and Jennings in the centres I reckon.

| Obviously the Aussies have the better fullbacks, exceptional infact, but Tomkins with Hardaker and Lomax as his back up is pretty good and as healthy depth wise as i can remember for us.

| To be fair we probably have more genuine options for FB than we've had in years.

I'd be tempted to get two of them on the field at the same time too. Whether that's Hardaker at 1 and Sam at 6 or Sam at 1 and Hardaker at 3/4 I don't know but I do think they both have to play.

| I would feel more confident with Sam at 6 against the Aussies, his last man defence can be pretty suspect against average NRL fodder not least against the likes of Inglis

He has looked a bit "Michael Platt-esque" in defence at times this year at the back but if he's defending in the line the Aussies are going to throw their big men at him which could be disastrous. At best doing more defence would blunt his attacking abilities.
It's a conundrum.
Australia have plenty of fullback options with Hayne and Inglis and could even look at Brett Stewart or Matt Moylem and they'd still be better than what we have.

Probably thought the same when we had Radlinski and Wellens tbf. And then when Briscoe came onto the scene.

He's been decidedly average in defence this year.

ope, I didn't actually, I never rated Wellens as anything more than solid, and Radlinski is the biggest international failure of the last 40 years IMO. The options we have now are far better.
