James Graham? The coach works predominantly in Australia so no reason why the captain can't.

Think it probably makes sense to have an Oz based player, most of the squad will come from there. Graham is a good shout, but can be a little hot headed!

Graham is the natural choice.

O'Loughlin probably shouldn't even be selected based on his ongoing fitness levels, and should be the next of the old guard to retire.

I would have thought SoL was first choice but like most have said, depending on his fitness/injury situation.

James Graham will be a definite contender but only if it doesn't take the edge off his game.

Danny McGuire is probably past his best, but Sam Tomkins would be an interesting choice ( and send these boards into melt down

Lockers is a Lion for Wigan and could have been a very good GB / Eng Captain.

Widdop or Graham, Sam Burgess would have been my choice before he took the thirty pices of silver. I would prefer my captain to be on the park for the full 80 so Widdop or Tomkins it will be.

Roby?

Not loud enough imo. His leadership at Saints falls firmly in the Chris Joynt "lead by doing" style, which works relatively well at club level, but I'm not sure its enough fire and brimstone for internationals.

James Graham use to be captain of the Great Britain Academy side, captain of a superleague side, so its a natural step up for him.

I was going to use Steven Gerrard as an example of a not as vocal captain, but then that's one of the reasons why he was such a poor and possibly the worst captain England has ever had.

My concern about Graham is his temper, wouldn't want him to get sent off or suspended in a key match for biting or whatever.

James Graham must be the best choice in my opinion.

I think Roby's a cracking player but, I may be wrong, he just doesn't strike me as a captain.
I'd go for Graham.
If O'Loughlin were a couple of years younger I'd have gone for him but I'd use this opportunity of having a set World Cup timeline to build towards it by securing a spine and a leadership group within the England team.
I'd be looking at having:
1. Hardaker
6. Tomkins
7. Widdop
9. Roby

As the spine of the team for the next 3 years so that by the time of the next World Cup they've played together relatively often. In addition to that I think it's important to have a stable captaincy during that time which is why I'd go for Graham rather than O'Loughlin.
