Good to see some form players actually been chosen in Huby, Clark, Bateman etc. Still a few head scratchers. Disappointed not to see Sneyd or Brown there. Not sure how Myler's got in a head of those two. JJB, really!?
But apart from that we look to have a lot of depth, especially when we have the NRL lads to come in.

| No Kevin Brown? No surprise there. Same thing every year. He surely has to be one of the form players of the year. He's been outstanding and there's to be on that list infront of a number of those
11 tries and 13 try assists so far and he really has got us firing. Definitely worth at least a squad place in this England squad.
Myler? He's been atrocious. It never ever changes.

| Not sure if theres anything more Kevin Brown could have done to get in that squad tbh, pretty gutted for him in all honesty and while he's picked some on form he's picked others who have been very poor. Mark Sneyd also very unlucky and again could he have done anything more?
Myler, JJB, Sinfield and Bridge all fortunate to be in IMO, the rest i don't really have any problem with.

| good to see Carl Ablett is in there again, given that McNamara had such faith in his abilities during the World Cup Semi Final.
Would have thought that Sinfield and JJB would have the decency to retire too.

| If it's on form then how on earth has Charnley, Jones Bishop & Cudjoe got in.
What the Hell are we doing selecting Sinfield again ahead of Sneyd who's been outstanding.
Sargison over Wardle?
I swear the bloke picking the squads never watches the game!

| Absolute genius to hold the camp while Wigan's 9 selected players are unavailable because we actually have a game, suspect that's also why Brown isn't in there.

Just so happens to fall when the Roosters have a bye week though, absolute joke that he's got still got the job when he's based in Oz.

+1
I'd add that it was a joke that he got the job in the first place, even worse that he kept it after the disastrous World Cup camp shenanigans and not making the final and ridiculous that he's still in the job after moving to Australia.

| Still a couple in there who are in on reputation alone, but considering that doesn't include the NRL based guys it's a good looking squad. As a Hull fan I'm really happy that Westerman has got some recognition for what has been an excellent season from him so far. Good to see guys like Huby getting a chance too.

| Dont get why Myler is in before Sneyd and Brown. Very overated and isnt Bridge getting in the halves before him now at Wire? Cudjoe and Charnley seemed to struggle in the big games during the playoffs of last year and the internationals too.

surprised at joe burgess, 17 first team games and suddenly he's ready for England yet others who play for less "fashionable" clubs never get a look in.
other than that no major surprises, the usual suspects are still there.

| He's only in the top 5 in the league for metres & metres per carry and top of the league in clean breaks...
Plus he's showed good vision to make tries for others and is solid under a high ball.

| From a Giants fan point of view Ferres is a great selection, Cudjoe at the moment not showing great form and a questionable choice! Who I would love to see playing for England from the Giants are inform Wardle & Patrick, both can be eligible for England but both unfortunately chose a different path.

| No it's not England Knights, it's an England training squad.
I don't really have a problem with anyone selected for that squad.
The only ones you might question are JJB & Charnley because their injuries have kept them from playing, but then the whole point of large training squads is to get a large amount of players together who will potentially be in the mix for a place in the 24 man squad at the end of the year.
Not including Sneyd I can understand too. Yes he's been good so far this season, but does having 1 good half-season put him ahead of others who've done it year on year?
I would say though, that if you don't include Sneyd for that reason then Joe Burgess shouldn't be included either. Or they should both be included.
Going from that squad, and the NRL players to be added to it, I'd go with a 4 Nations squad of something like:
1. Tomkins
2. Briscoe
3. Watkins
4. Hardaker
5. Hall
6. Widdop
7. Sinfield
8. Burgess, G
9. Roby
10. Graham
11. Ferres
12. Bateman
13. O'Loughlin
14. Clark
15. Hill
16. Walmsley
17. Westwood
18. Ablett
19. Smith
20. Huby
21. Taylor
22. Makinson
23. Westerman
24. Farrell

I think it's a good inclusion and one we should be encouraging, he is unlikely to get a starting wing spot with Briscoe, Hall and Makinson well in front of him, so his inclusion is one for the future and it will be great experience for him being in the England setup.
I'm not sure what other winger on form could have been chosen anyway?

| Not a problem with players like Joe Burgess in. While he may not start this 4N, he's one for the future which we have to start building for. Which is why leaving out Sneyd in particular is so frustrating. He definitely has the potential, he's playing well, why not give him a shot. Oh no lets leave might work. the fact Chase is left out completely shows how inept the coach is. Unfortunately we have to put up with him for another year. We aren't going to make the final, but hopefully this year we can move on from Mcnamara and Sinfield.

Not picking Chase is a huge indication of how inept McNamara is? I thought people would be happy about this?

im not disputing his talent and/or stats, but surely a player has to gain experience playing first grade for a period of time?
thats what im saying, if he he didn't play for wigan he wouldn't be considered IMO, crooks and lineham were just as impressive for hull but never got a look in, yet this kid who has only played 17 games for wigan gets called up straight away.
i just feel a player should play at least 50 first team games before he is considered for the national squad

Yeah, I thought it was a strange statement too. Saying that, Chase has been garbage this year anyway. Not that that has ever been a barrier in the past.
