previous always counts against Hock, if he is up for anything he is going to be punished to the full unless he is representing England. |

Has anyone actually seen the incident? The fact he even got charged is ridiculous, that he got found guilty and was banned is farcical.

When Hock got his ban (which I thought was five games for grabbing Ian Smith) the biggest complaint on this site was that he didn't get a life ban, as he would have done in the amateur game.
I hope we aren't heading the same way as another game where pushing the referee after most decisions is commonplace.

Tansey wasn't deserving of a ban, or atleast not a 3 match ban. The referee was backing into him as Tansey was trying to defend and so Tansey pushed him to the side. He should've done it a little bit softer but it's in the heat of a close match and he's trying to not concede a try. It happened right in front of me at the game and neither I nor anyone around me thought anything of it. Not worth 3 games imo, more like 1.

Tansey shoved him in the back. Watch the refs head during the incident. The ref was clearly unaware that Tansey was there and was unprepared for it. Tansey could have taken a step either side, spoken to the ref or moved him with a gentler touch. He chose to shove him out of the way and therefore deserves the punishment.
It's the rules of the game.

A great number of things have to be considered at disciplinary.
What club do they play for?
Is there an important game coming up? (Semi or Final)
Are they gareth hock?
If a decent player for a top team is up and theres a big game coming up, the ban (if any at all) is always on the leniant side.
If someone like gareth hock is up annd they play for a tin pot team who's not won a trophy since thatcher was in government they have the book thrown at them.

Having watched it, I would say that is largely bullcrap.

That sound just about bob on to me. The words "almost to suggest an air of petulance" especially ring true. |

Don't think he can have many complaints. The Hull man with the ball is already being tackled as Tansey shoves the ref, hes 10 meters away and there's no immediate danger to warrant that push

bowens high shot wasn't a clever one and he was lucky not to be banned, i guess that because we was playing in the WCC in Australia had helped him avoid one. Still haven't seen a video with a clear view on where he tackles dixon or where the point of contact starts but the obvious outcome proves that at some point he has made contact with the jaw, but as far the length of the ban i think they made it up as you can't actually see the contact. |

Maybe thats his personal opinion, honestly i don't see it being worth a 2 game ban but the rules and punishments are there and he has fallen foul of it. In my opinion its a caution and tell him to avoid tackling the knee joint because he clearly hasn't set out to hurt the player. |
