| Great Britain Armed Forces Squad to play Australia
With two wins under his belt, GB Armed Forces Head Coach Warrant Officer Wayne Okell MBE is in the fortunate position of having 24 fit players to pick from for this the final group game against the Australians. The final pool match will be the 4th time that the two teams have faced each other since 2003, the last was at the Sydney Football Stadium in 2008 where they won 26-16 to lift the inaugural Armed Forces World Cup Trophy.
“We have some serious competitors that have worked extremely hard throughout this process and that has shown in training and the opening two games” says Okell, “Competition for places has been immense, they all deserve a start but I have been true to our values and we have picked the players that look hungry and are in form. I believe they will provide me with the best opportunity in beating the Australians and securing the top spot in the tournament league standings”. Okell went on to say, “Those players not chosen will obviously be very disappointed but that’s a good thing also, there is no room for complacency, we are going all out to deliver a strong message and hopefully the game will take care of itself.”
