The amount of times the term 'World Class' is used on Sky is becoming embarrasing. The amount of world class players in SL must be at an all time high.

I remember when this term was used only for the likes of Hanley, Brett Kenny, Sterling, Roger Millward & other players of such standing who will be look at upon as legends of the game.

As soon as someone makes a try saving tackle or a flick pass they are 'world class'.

I've lost count of the amount of players who have been given this label this season. So who's the worst player to be labelled 'world class' by the experts on Sky Sports??

The dummy from Gelling last night was World Class, as was Hodgson's Swan Dive...

The ultimate aim here is for Sky to sell more subscriptions and as a result of that, the sky team are instructed to sensationalise the product in the theory that it will help gain business.

Of course, if the don't describe it as 'world class', they must tell the truth... 'it was good, but its not the NRL'....and that doesn't generate interest and nor does it sell sky dishes.

Sport is a business, and for Sky it will always be about that.

A player can produce a moment of skill that is "world class" without being a world class player.

Rangi Chase's around the back dummy (at Hull KR?) springs to mind. Piece of world class skill, not a world class player.

If they wanted that then they would change the commentators who seem more concerned with micro analysing a forward pass or high tackle than bogging the spectacle

Its something to pick at which they can generate a bit of drama and controversy over....thus contributing to sensationalising the product.... I appreciate what you're getting at - to me and you its nit picking and its tedious, but that's what we have to put up with as sky dont really care about me and you who are die hards who wont go away....

Not when its something trivial and then after the 25th showing of it they miss something which is finally worth going over.

Again, I see exactly what you're getting at. The fact that they're missing things, time and time again, says to me that whoever is making sure the commentary team do their job right are either happy with what they're doing or don't know enough about rugby league to know that the commentary team have missed something....

We could do with a definition of World Class

Would it be something like a skill performed by a player that would be worthly of world select 13

Tim Smith's no-look passes for example or Tomkins untouchable runs?

Cudjoes out the back pass to Lawrence vs Saints at home last year (or year before, can't remember) that IMO was world class!

Id like to say that they're world class, but I think cohesion is a more accurate definition....I know, world class cohesiveness
