I read somewhere last week that this is going to be considered for future seasons sometime in the near future.

Here is my suggestion, no bonus points, but minus points for teams taking a thrashing, lose by 30 and it´s -1, then an extra point is deducted for every 15 points, so 2 at -45 and 3 at -60.

This would motivate clubs far more, and we might see more games where both teams compete with something akin to pride.

If the RFL bring in the bonus point it will hurt the comp even more. I don't agree with the fact a team losing, earning points.

As far as I remember, the bonus point was originally an invention of the other code to try and get teams to attempt to score tries to improve the game as a spectacle.

It was then adopted by the lower leagues of RL to help balance out the league as there cases of haves and have nots is far more pronounced the further from SL you go.

As for adding it to SL? I don't see the benefit. Especially given how games are turning out this season as teams seem to be a little more unpredictable (though I will admit there's been a handful of blow outs, but I feel that's more the nature of the sport than anything else)

Defence is the problem in Super League, overall it is very poor.
If a bonus point where to be introduced I'd have it for good defence.

Hate ambiguity in a result. Think it's a great advantage over soccer and RU that we generally have one winner and one loser on the day. You take the shine off a last minute winning try if it fails to claim all the points that were on offer at the start of the day, or indeed fails to deny any points to the opposition.

For those reasons I'd get rid of the draw too, but I've argued that one out here before, in the face of a legion of Luddites who fail to see how much better it would be for everyone if every league game started with the home side half a point in the lead. So I refuse to be 'drawn' (heh) into another discussion of it .

1 for a draw
0 for a loss

No gimmicks required, and that includes 10 minutes extra time consisting of attempts at drop goals!

Now if we could fix the broken Top 8 play-off system, get rid of licensing and re-introduce P&R, regular season fixtures might actually mean something once again and the game itself regain some of it's lost credibility.

And go back to winter rugby too, then the game can be just like how you remember it from before the mid-life crisis kicked in eh.
