| Looking very good. 50k at the end of October. All the early bird tickets sold out. Now good sales reported at Hull, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Wembley, Rochdale and 35k sold for the final already.
Best thing is 60% of the people buying tickets haven't bought tickets for a major RL event before and 70% of the customers for Wembley haven't bought tickets for a major RL event before.
Put the hardcore RL fans on top of these sales and we're looking at a great tournament crowd wise.
35k for the final already compared to 50k in 08 & 44k in 2000.

Great news though, The WC is a showcase, lets get behind it and show the best parts of RL

| RFL have to keep up the effort though.
We need a good song for the WC, like the rugby union had in 1995 (World in Union). A good song that people keep humming makes the event seem more special.
We have to hope for 50-60k at Wembley and 60-70k at the final, regardless of who plays.
We also have to hope that the big stars who will attract the fans -- starting with Sonny Bill Williams, and followed by Benji Marshall, Billy Slater, Johnathan Thurston, Greg Inglis and Sam Tomkins -- will all be fit to play right up to the end of the event.

| Terrific stuff.
I've been excited about this world cup for a while now and whilst I've got a couple of hotels booked for games I'm yet to buy any tickets for the matches themselves. I go to pretty much all the England internationals so if I've not got any tickets yet that's a good sign for the amount of tickets I'd still expect to be shifted because I'm sure I'm not on my own in being a typical League fan and feeling there's no need to rush.
Best get my backside in gear.

| Really good news! Hoping to get to the final and the Italy v.s Tonga game. Fingers crossed i can get to semi and opening ceremony too. The final looks like it's going to sell out even before the tournament starts. The opening ceremony and Semi need to be well attended, but it is certainly looking that way with them opening new areas for the opening ceremony.
The really pleasing thing is the lesser games seem to be selling well which is fantastic news as i thought we may struggle to shift some tickets. For example i didn't think the Eng v.s Ireland game would sell many until the tournament started, but it is looking like all England's games are going to sell out.
Although the RFL haven't made too many good decisions of late, i really think they are going to organise a fantastic, well attended tournament. Looks like they have finally realised that if you give fans plenty of time to organise, and buy tickets, they will go to more games!

I've been told the aim is to sell the final out by April, which would obviously be fantastic if it happens! Keep pushing and battling RFL, and make it a fantastic tournament (with an England win) please!

| I can't wait. Spreading the cost of tickets over the year is ensuring I can go to quite a few games.
Seen parts of games at Derwent Park & Craven Park are sold out. I also think the two games in France will draw big crowds. I think this tournament will blow the successful 2008 WV out of the water attendance wise.

| it's going to be a great tournament.....only about 70% of the tournament tickets left to sell
Seriously...re-read the release......spin is spin...do a simple count-back on the venues and you will see that they are running at about 23% sold with 249 days to go. Given 55% of the tickets are 20 notes or under, then expect to see busloads of kids on route to Bristol and Cumbria come game time.....
They have sold less than 50% of the final tickets....if they'd sold more for the double headers they would have said.....so you're looking at 100k to 130k tickets sold to date most of these in England packs........they will struggle to get close to 2008 figures and with 10 more games.

That's one way to look at it. A very pessamistic way at that.
The successful 2008 WC sold 293000 tickets in total.
Our final is well on the way to selling out but i'll say 65K
even if we only get 10k more at Wembley as in the 4 Nations (which we wont) 52k that's 117k sold.
Looking at 50k minimum for Millennium Stadium 167k.
France will sell out both of their games-got 17k at avignon for a freindly and 14k in the Alitalia Cup, will get 12k miniumum at GB-another 29k - 196k
England v Ireland 18k min with sales really good. 214k
Eng v Fiji 18k min 232k
Then, being very liberal...
Fiji-Ireland 4k, Aus v Fiji 12k, Aus v Ireland 3k, PNG v France 7k, NZ v Samoa 12k, NZ v PNG 8k, Tonga-Scotland 4k, Scotland-Italy 4k, Tonga v Italy 4k, USA v Cook Islands 3k, Wales v USA 5k, Wales v Cooks 3k, Tonga v Cooks 5k, Scotland v USA 3k.
309k Total
Quarters Wrexham 6k minimum with a bad fixture, Wigan 20k will get a good fixture, Headingley 14k, HJ 10k? Sounds Fair I reckom as one will have England and will sell out.
Thats 359k being very liberal.
That blows the triumph of 2008 away.
Spin Spin Spin.

The hardcore RL fans are yet to purchase because we think we've got loads of time when there are parts of stadia selling out.

| Great news. I think a lot of people are in the same boat with buying tickets. I have got my final tickets as wanted to get good seats for it and spend a bit of money on them and now i am picking up the other tickets slowly as there isn't much of a rush. Bring it on I can't wait

I'm in a similar mindset.
Got a "big event" package as a Christmas gift and those are the games that I was really keen on seeing. That said, I'll almost definitely go to some of the 'local' games as well - most likely England v Ireland at Huddersfield and PNG vs New Zealand at Headingley.

What are they going to do if the World Cup is a success and not the flop they are all hoping for?

| 18k to England v Fiji? just that one figure lost me.
Lucky if its 8k I would have thought.
Did I read the post wrong?
I hope its a great success the game needs it and I believe England need to either win this Tournament or at the very least come runners up in a tight Final.
Anything less will be a poor result for this Code.
Only three real contenders and NZ travel to England really badly, it should be a certain England v Oz Final you would think.

| Why would it be 8k for a World Cup game with England playing? Don't see how that has lost you so easily.
England got 8k at Salford and just under 9k down the road at Craven Park in a tournament that wasn't organised and didn't mean anything v France.
I'll take a £500 charity bet that there are more than 8000 on.
