Anyone seens the new Super League Ad with Bradley Wiggins? Just saw it at them end of the football. Always nice to have big names promoting the game

Was just going to post about this. That advert will do more promoting the game than the Stobart deal ever did.

Don't underestimate someone like Bradley Wiggins saying "I would love to be a rugby league player" could do for the sport.

Did I really just have to watch an advert before I could watch an advert?

I think it's too tame for a high impact full throttle sport like ours. It could have been so much better.

He's been doing a bit of freelancing too. On channel 4 News tonight he was being interviewed about cycling and the Lance Armstrong episode, and the interviewer asked "What would you say if one of your children told you they wanted to be a cyclist?"

"I rather you became a Rugby League player, mate." was his reply.

The current toughest man in one of the toughest sports in the world basically saying that our game is to tough for him.

Wiggo is a star, a legend and much admired throughout the world with winning the Tour de France last year. It's great that he's giving lots of credibility and support to Rugby League. I'm sure the publicity will make quite a few football fans tune in to SL games.

I don't think it needs ten dozen shoulder charges to make it a good ad for RL, it's certainly different compared with previous SL ads.

Good powerful ad in it own unique way imo.

I love it, it is quite a simple idea, the shoot and the post-production wouldn't have been too tasking yet the production standards are fantastic. It's nice to see Sky killing two birds with one stone with advert too with Team Sky being their cycling team and Super League obviously being their product.

A really good idea to use someone as popular as Wiggins to help promote the game. Good on Sky.

It's superb, they had to do it now while the Wiggins iron is still hottest, next season this wouldn't have worked as well.

Lets have more Sporting heroes promoting our great game, and at the same time pushing our great players into the national consciousness.

i really liked it. nice and simple, not overstated and it is quite attention grabbing. a much better effort than the locker room one from last season....the extraordinary or what ever it was called

Best advert I have seen for the game in a long time! Like people have said we don't need loads of shoulder charges and big hits in every adverrt. I think during last year on an advert we had a tackle on there which resulted in a red card.
I don't think you'd see the FA showing a tackle that got someone a red card on there adverts. Could be wrong

They're different campaigns.

The Sky ad is to promote their coverage of the upcoming SL season and I think it does a good job; two of their big sporting brands alongside one another, with no northern stereotypes or the usual big hit montage set to a soft rock soundtrack. I wonder if they'll follow it up with ad's featuring other celebrity fans of the TGG?

The Rugby League of the Extraordinary campaign was an RFL initiative to promote the product itself - I thought that was very well done too and I hope they follow it up with more of the same.
