| I don't understand why they don't seek investment from Man Utd players. They could buy the club for a couple of week's wages.

| What? This can't be right. Another wealthy investor interested in buying a club? I thought the salary cap, licensing and the incompetence of anyone and everyone who has ever worked at the RFL had scared them all away.

| ...if this guy decides against buying into Salford what happens next? They will have already started the season by the time the winding up action returns to court, so will the RFL offer them the same assistance as they did Bradford?
Let's hope this guy buys into them... the more smart and wealthy owners the game gets can only be good in the long run. He won't want to be bankrolling them endlessly, so will look to make them self sufficient and maybe even profitable in a short space of time.
When IL took over Wigan they were averaging about 14k...he's got them up to as near as damn it to 17k in 5 years..20% Growth and at about 30 quid a pop on tickets and residuals, just shy of another 1.2 million on their turn over as well.......smart owners, who know what they are doing may well be the best thing for this game.

| By the way . I hope the Reds come out of this ok . Would hate to see any team go under . And before anyone questions the sincerity of my best wishes towards the Reds may I state that I am a Loiner . Not just any Loiner , but one that was prepared to go to a lot of effort to help our nearest and dearest The Bulls out when they were in trouble .

| Just read the link, his paddock at Haydock is stunning by the way, the track lights up at night by huge LED's, it used to be a run down old farm but now it's state of the art. Just off the East Lancs at Haydock Island.
This fellas got some dough, hope he gets invlved.

| Obviously we all hope that they survive! I really hope this isnt a false dawn and they have picked this chaps name from a list of local wealthy men who are already involved within sport.
Saying that, looking at their squad this year would almost be a write off and big changes to be made next season. That outgoing list is quite incredible. Talk about being gutted.

Salford havnt picked his name from anywhere? It was apparently him who shown interest to the RFL about a take over, the RFL the guy in question and Peel Holdings are currently holding talks, lets see what comes of it? I just want my team to survive if I'm being honest!

| This year will be a right off but a strong Salford going forward with a business man in charge, bigger crowds, new stadium etc etc will be great for the game.
I hope it all comes of for them

Oops, spotted the deliberate mistake there - Anderson has left the club and is currently party to the winding up order! I'd fully expect Jewitt and McPherson to be starting props and Dixon and Ashurst our starting 2nd Rowers actually. Don't underestimate Theo in the halves, virtually every SL club would love to get their hands on him but we definitely need a Scrum Half. Let's hope the lovely Doctor comes on board, it's been a depressing off-season.

| If this bloke is so financially savvy, why doesn’t he wait for the club to go into admin?
I’ve no idea how much debt he’ll be taking on, I saw £300k banded about to the HMRC, Salford Council, considerably more.
O.k. the club would have to stand the points deduction for this season, but looking at the squad it’s hardly going to set the game alight.
Or is there something I’m missing?

| Jack Holmes and Jon Ford should be added to that list.
I'd say that Evalds would be favorite to be in at FB, and Gibson in the centre. Marc Sneyd is a good prospect, and will almost certainly be in at scrum half and goal kicking. All in all, considering the financial woes, its not the worst squad. Heavily reliant on young players in pivot positions, and very little injury cover. Should anything happen to Fages or Snyed it would be a killer blow. Happy at this stage to have a squad at all.
As to going into Admin... haven't Bradford has Sky funding witheld after going into admin? wouldn't the same happen to Salford? By avoiding Admin, we retain the Sky income, which is significantly more than the current debt in the long term.

I could be wrong but I thought Bradford were advanced Sky money by the RFL to help pay wages etc while Bradford was in administration. So they haven't had funding witheld but had received it last season instead of this.

Is that his? Looked at that sorry looking farm for years thinking someone could make a fortune by renovating. It's now a very smart looking property.

23 yr old Marc Sneyd will have the number 7 shirt , if anything purely for his Goalkicking , Howarth & Godwin will interchange the no.9 position
Theo Fages could be a revelation. if given a chance .
