| Which bright spark at RL HQ failed to realise that all 3 Wakefield district clubs were at home this weekend.
No doubt the same one who had both Hull clubs at home last week.
Despite that I think that the area should be proud that over 16,000 were in attendance despite both Wakefield and Cas languishing in the lower regions of super league.
The area is still a hot bed for RL and produced the following attendances today; Wakefield 9k,
Cas £5k and over £2k at Fev.
Well done.

| What does it matter? Traffic will have been fine. Its hardly like having Manchester United and City at home is it?

| While we're on the topic of speccy numbers, 4.8k at Cas is awful! Even with notorious poor travellers Salford in town - I would be really worried if I was a Tigger.

5.8 actually. Not great but they don't travel well and we've been dogeth recently. We got over 9k when we played fc earlier on in the season. For your casual fan, a game against fc appeals more then a clash against salford.

You may well have done, but that will be down to FC's great away following.
They always travel well to Cas as do us Rovers fans.

| Superb crowd at Wakefield. I had been critical of the club and had spent many a time on here debating just why they were ever allowed into Super League. But their youth development and crowds recently have been very encouraging. Well done them.

So I presume Wakefield's decent crowd yesterday is purely down to hull fc then too?

In part yes, but also our fixtures are 35% up on last year and there were 1,000 more people
there than the same fixture last year.

Cas v Hull FC 2011: 7866
Cas v Hull FC 2012: 9050
So it's hardly a Wakefield exclusive thing having a good crowd against Hull FC (and it being up on last year too).

Maybe it's that the club charge home fans and away fans the same to watch the game ??? Or maybe because you can actually see the game as an away fan and not be a mile from the pitch ???

| As a complete neutral in this and removing the debated aspect of Hull's away support...
Castleford vs Salford; 4,877
Wakefield vs Salford; 6,748
Got to be fair to Wakey, they're doing some tremendous work in increasing their average gate.

Has to said, our game was on the TV on a Saturday tea time as well. I think a lot of Cas fans are finding it hard to come to terms with fact that our crowds are better now.
A lot of credit has to go to Wakey with the way attendances have increased on the back of nothing special on the pitch. Over 5 years ago we was struggling to get over 3K at home Salford!

That reported figure is wrong for the Cas attendance HTH.

| Your fans pay for cheap season tickets!!!! Back up to the usual £180 bracket and your average would shoot back down.

Think your calculator is wrong. Wakey's average is above ours this season.

| Current average attendances so far this season:
Castleford 7230 or 7352 depending on which figure's right for yesterday.
Wakefield 7941

7352 then
7941...amazing what cheap season tickets will do for your attendances, not so great for finances mind.

I expect your figures be a lot more accurate than that Gronk, been a high earning Law man and all that!
According to my calculations (taken from SL stats) 6998 is our average to date. Castleford’s is 6538. To be more accurate we can compare like for like, the teams we have both played at home ( Hull KR, Hull, Bradford, Salford). Our average is 7820, your is 7345! Looking at both teams remaining home games I expect our average to be bigger come the end of the season!
Admit it; it narks you to see us getting some credit from the RL community after all these years of been put down for our attendances. Credit were its due, don’t you think?

| Both your calculations are wrong (and I've used the same figures and same website). The ones mentioned above are correct.
