Learn from the RFU? England v Fiji tickets start from £40 for adults. So should we start selling tickets for more then?

I was more thinking along the lines of Saracens and Quins filling Wembley.

England RU have the demand to be able to charge that much for ticket, we just don't.

Yeah I know what your saying but at times I just don't think we should under sell ourselves. At the end of the day it's still England and these games will probably be the closest and best games England will play this year. I know I'm in the minority though who still loves international rugby and go to as many international games as I can

1. You're devaluing the price of not only RL, but top level RL.
2. RU sell for a fiver to fill up a huge stadium and barely make anything out of it. What sort of profit/loss margin would you expect from not filling an 18k ground on £5 tickets?

Sounds more like a whinge about money than a constructive suggestion to me.

It's a sad state of affairs that Rugby League fans only seem interested unless there is a heavy discount. We get great value for money compared to most first class sports, if you think these sort of prices are extortionate then I'd hate to see some reactions to the likes of champions league tickets.

9,000 people paying £18 = £162,000
18,000 people paying £5 = £90,000

Bit steep for an exhibition game, but that's for those who attend to decide.
The RFL knows what it needs to make on the gate, let's hope it has set it's prices accordingly.

At the end of the day, these are the retail prices. There will probably be discounts and deals on top of these as well, ie buy four get the fifth free etc. People need to know they're getting a deal.

Yet again the RFL show initiative and the fans of the game whinge.

It's not the expense I was refering to (it was £22 last year IIRC) but the disparity in the two prices for the same event. Why is one £3 more? Isn't that a bit unfair on the Yorkshire folk?

Because one has terracing and the other doesnt. Standing up is cheaper than sitting down.

Maybe the costs of staging the game are higher at the Galpharm.

Don't really think £21 to sit in a modern ground is that bad considering I've paid around the same amount to stand up, get frozen to the bones and get p*ssed wet through stood on a terrrace, open to the elements in some so called "Super League Stadium"

As mentioned it'll be because one has terracing and the other doesn't. It was £22/£15 on the day last year and £19/£12 when bought in advance.

Went to Langtree Park for a seat in North stand until the person in ticket office said that'll be £29 please -

.Needless to say I declined.I know it's a representative game but it's only £23.50 in advance for a seat at a league game.£18 to stand behind the posts is more reasonable so I may go for that.

i think the RFL have put together some great 'deals' regarding the CCF, Magic Weekend, and the SLGF.

£67 for all three!!! brilliant value.

Isnt there a group ticket for exiles game at langtree I think its £40 but u also get an exiles shirt and an england shirt

Last time this fixture frustrated me only because it conflicted with the Salford game , this time it won't, fair price for what's on show.

Thats because most RL fans are from Yorkshire.

The issue is not the cost of the ticket.....it's how the RFL decide to MARKET the games. If, as usual, they revert to type, then they will think thay have already done enough by booking the grounds and announcing the dates.

14,000 last year was enough response to convince the RFL to look at 2 this year....anything less than 15k at both will be a disappointment, so they need to get promoting the games now.
Maybe, instead of giving money to ticketbastrd, why not get the clubs to sell the tickets and pay them commission? I mean to say, there will be 20,000 RL fans at Odslum this weekend, why not give Bradford the "admin" fee rather than the money grabbing sods at TM?
