Superb gesture to agree to a release and free up his money to be spent on a replacement. I realise the money concerned will be buttons compared to what he has earned throughout his career but it still sums up the mans character.

Shame this. A solid big-hearted player. We didn't see the best of him at Leeds but always a player I admired and great that he's not draining Dewsbury of cash while he attempts recovery.

Hope he has a good 'plan b' for his rugby retirement.

Always loved to see Fozzard run the ball in. No fear! A great sight when he was in full flight!

Loved him in his first stint at Saints,no nonsense prop who gave his all.

He is a truly nice guy as well,had the pleasure of speaking to him on a couple of occasions,good luck in your future endeavours Foz.

He writes a article in RLE. Never particulary liked him as a player but fair play to him regarding not taking the money from dewsbury.

Fozz has been appointed Commercial Manager at Cas.

Whilst I agree Fozzy Bear was a tough character and indeed the speed he would run into other players was worrying. He did have a tendency to raise that forearm and just smash someone in the face.

Once a game every game he would just hit someone with that guard in the face, with the speed he was running at it never got picked up as much as it should.

Whilst yes he's a good player, I bet a lot of other prop's are happy to not see his forearm coming towards the,.

Name me a player who's been injured by an illegal forearm from Fozzard.
How many matches did he serve as bans following sending offs or citations?

Erm take a look number of times he was cited by the RFL, he was pulled a tonne o ftimes but never fully charged.

I'm just saying that Fozzy played prop for 15 odd years, if he genuinely led with the elbow regulary, there would be a list of memorable instances, injured players and substantial bans.

I would also suggest that he wouldn't be the extrodinarily popular character amongst teammates and oppostion that he apparently is.
