Is it me or is Phil Clarke destroying Boots and All on his own ??

Sky have done so well with fulltime etc etc but this obsession with Phil Clarke and his 'stats' is the biggest turn off I have ever seen it was far better when Paul Cullen was doing a proper insiders rugby take of each match !!

The 'margin meter' is as bad I enjoyed it far more when there was intelligent match discussion not just stats that to Clarkeys surprise keep being wrong every week. According to his 'stats' we should have lost our last two games but guess what !!! we won them !!

Anyone else think all this spoils what we see on TV ??

I like it, but not the overkill that we are getting.

Give him his 5 minutes, pick out the most interesting ones and move on.

I like it, it's just Phil Clarke is a rubbish presenter. They need to get an actual presenter for it.

I also like it. He's way better in that format than he is live. They need to work on the presentation a little but I'd rather something like this that is relevant to the actual game than some ty puff piece about some non-event going on at a club near you - here's Angela Powers with the news.

Someone needs an intensive course in infographics though. If you don't already understand the concepts he's talking about you're not going to learn them from his disco lights.

Agreed that he's not a presenter. He's articulate and probably full of charisma in real life but it doesn't come across on tv.

Yeah that's a good point. They clearly have Stevo doing the graphics, at times they are unreadable

If you aren't, you won't.

As for the OP, the tactical analysis is in SLFT on Sundays. Why have it on BNA as well? If you don't like it, don't watch it. But don't suggest repeating the same thing! The people that do like it miss out then for no good reason.

the first ten minutes of boots n all was like sitting through the dullest work powerpoint ever. It take ssome skill to make a game of rugby league boring but clarkes giving it a good go.

For the first 15 mins of Boots 'n' All I like to 'utilise the FFwd button'.

Boots N All as a whole needs a complete revamp. The same panel of "experts" churning out the same tired old cliches every week is really old now. At least Clarkey has some colourful graphics to point at while he's spouting his cliches!

Bin Boots N All off and start with a clean slate. It's easily the worst Rugby League show that Sky put on each week. Super League Back Chat is miles better and that's only viewable online

I just whizz at x30 speed through the first 10-15 minutes of boots n all, it is very boring.

Perhaps people's opinions are more to do with Phil Clarke than his stats? He's a very wooden and false presenter, like Eddie really. They don't speak naturally when presenting. You can tell that they're reading something, or have revised their lines and are basically regurgitating what's been written down. Good presenters speak like they're having a conversation with someone. Stevo is good at this. And from what I've seen on SLBC, Rod Studd is as well (just has a face for radio!).

A good presenter would make those stats seem relevant to people that don't get them.

He's destroying the live matches as well with the constant margin meter crap. Eddie saying on Saturday that it was spot on in predicting the Leeds win. It was Eddie yes, with 3 mins to go and after several previous attempts that it fecked right up.

Get rid of Clarkey and let him take his meter with him.

I agree, whats the point of it predicting with a few mins to go? either bin it altogether or just have one prediction at half time based on the first half.

Eddie, Steveo & Clarke are embarrasing and you can predict what they are going to say, leave Eddie in the studio to present and don't let him near a commentary microphone, Dave Woods is a much better commentator!

I like the stats, it gives an interesting insight to the game. It does go on for way too long though.

Also agree that the entire programme needs revamping. Getting some conversation and debate going would be a nice start rather than the chummy consensus constantly.

I think the margin meter is actually okay for one reason, it highlights the unpredictability of the game.
Even though all the stats heavily point to one result, we can often see an upset against the run of play.
I also like the statistical analysis on Boots n all. Okay it maybe drags out for a bit too long but they're an important part of the game and fans have never really been able to access the kind of stats shown easily before.
Maybe get someone who is a bit more comfortable on camera doing them though.

Me too, it does my head in ...i cant watch it....even the pre match build up to the live games i'm finding myself turning over till about 5 mins to kick off.

I like the stats. I enjoy the first 10 minutes more than I ever did with Paul Cullens spot previously. If you don't like it then fast forward to the bit you do enjoy. The programme should include something for everyone.
