| So who's making the trek to Manchester?
Personally I'm really looking forward to it, just hope we can fill the stadium. Having it somewhere close enough for all the big teams to send their fans is a great idea whilst also not having it on someones home turf.
Although having 2/3 major events in the same city doesn't look like its the usual policy for the RFL, I wonder whether they'll move one of the other events too?

Salford v Huddersfield stretches the term derby to the limit and lets not get onto Catalan v London but yep it should be good but I will not be there as I am in London for the Greyhound Derby Final though hoping to get to Skolars v Gateshead on the Sunday afternoon.

| Can't knock the prices, especially for season ticket holders.
Hull have reported very strong sales compared to previous Magic Weekends

| I'd have gone were it not for the opposition. Playing the same team 250 times in the same season just gets utterly boring.

It's walkable from Piccadilly. About 20 minutes according to the [url=http://www.mcfc.co.uk/the-club/visiting-the-stadiumMCFC website[/url

| Was going to go for the full weekend but I have my family holiday a week before, then two weeks later stupid work is sending me over to Austrailia for a couple of weeks so the money I had put away for it is now gone. I suppose I can't have everything.

Nope, not me. I went to Cardiff last season and thought it was brilliant there. If the RFL is going to persist with this idea then Cardiff just can't be beaten for a great festival day of rugby league. Manchester certainly doesn't hit the spot.

| I think I'll be going but I really doubt I'll be booking in to a hotel and "making a weekend of it". The whole concept of that seems very daft to me considering I can get home fairly quickly from Manchester. Obviously those travelling over from Yorkshire may be more tempted to do the hotel thing, but it might change the whole feel of the event (which may not be a bad thing?)

| We've been to all 3 in Cardiff (full weekend) and 2009 Edinburgh again for the full weekend. This time it's just yet another derby game, played 100 miles away. Travel, have a beer, watch our game only and travel home.
Ticket sales might be higher but I don't expect this to translate to a full stadium at any given time. There will be less than 10,000 in the ground for the Hull derby at 7pm on a Saturday night.

| Think the RFL could do a lot worse than have some sort of event in Piccadilly Gardens with so many people travelling up by train, local punters may stick their nose in to see whats going on too which can't be bad for the game surely. Plus from there transport links are aplenty with the tram back in the station and its not too far (i guess) a walk to the stadium.
I would imagine there to be something going on outside the ground but i think it might be a little more like Edinburgh, stick a beer tent near the ground and that'll keep em happy!

I feel much the same, loved going to Cardiff and Edinburgh, the atmosphere over the whole weekend was amazing, and the millenium stadium is the best stadium i have visited. Manchester doesnt hold the same attraction for me and with most people seemingly just going for the day/one game i cant imagine the atmosphere will be anywhere near as good.
None the less i am looking forward to the weekend itself, going to book it off work and live in he pub for 2 days with my mates watching all 7 games.

Got to agree with this. I live in the northern quarter which is about 15/20 minute walk away. Loved going to Edinburgh & Cardiff and making a proper weekend of it. I feel that's what the Magic Weekend was/is all about. It's takes me longer to get to Barton than it will the Etihad, just can't get enthused about it all.
I'll be there though, more than likely do both days as it comes with my season ticket.

Just an update on what I was saying before, a mate of mine works for a sports travel company and they got me a deal for the weekend,
www.innov8-conferences.co.uk/spo ... ommodation
Actually cheaper than what the Superleague are advertising at the same hotels. We've managed to convince some mates in Hull to stay over for the weekend aswell (one of the bonuses of the Magic Weekend for us is getting some old mates in one city)

| 17 tickets bought for the Saturday - would have considered both days but Leigh are playing on the Sunday (will also be going to Swinton vs Halifax at the LSV on the Friday night). None of us have been to any of the previous Magic Weekends so that's an increase on those, at least!
