| Widnes Vikings v Wakefield Trinity Wildcats SKY and Salford City Reds v Castleford Tigers SKY. Really? Surely any of:
Leeds vs Hull KR, Hull vs Warrington, London vs St Helens and Wigan vs Hudds would be better games. I get Widnes being on and I understand SCR with their new stadium but surely it would have been better to let the game be off sky to attract more fans down to the new ground?

| 5th April is the game im looking forward to the most, Warrington away.
I'm surprised we're on the tv and i hope this doesn't discourage anybody from turning up and watching us. However, our first SL game last time was against St Helens on SKY. We ran them close 15-14 with tommy martin getting a drop goal 3 minutes to go.

| Ridiculous set of opening fixtures.
Why aren't Saints on SKY at home in the new pad week one? Gives the impression the sport is moving forward.
How many are Salford likely to get for their first game at the new stadium given the complete mess that club is in at present? How many season tickets have they sold.

| I think they could be close matchs and interesting to watch
Widnes - new boys first game
Wakey - new start for them with improved squad
I can't wait to see the first ever league game played at salfords stadium.

| Some selfish comments up there. Salford were on TV 3 times last year (inc MM) - just compare with YOUR clubs coverage. Also consider how hard it is for the Commercial staff to `sell` when those stats are around.

| Maybe it was decided 1 of the teams who is moving into their new stadium will be on tv first up plus Widnes. Salford Cas is more likely to be a closer game then Saints London (albeit London did beat Saints away last year).

| All the opening fixtures a completely boring.
Why not start with a bang? Have Hull v Wire on Sky and Wigan at home to Giants. Both big crowds, 15,000+ most likely for the first weekend and semi decent games.
It's just such a damp squib of a start.

| I'm very happy with the opening fixtures on sky. Two fairly even games, a chance to see the new boys (albeit i'll be at the game), and Salford showcasing their new stadium. There are 14 teams in SL, not just your own club!!

I will be. I don't see what that has to do with moaning about the lack of high quality games on Sky.

| Widnes vs Wakey will be a cracking game to kick it off. The new team and the side that didn't think they'd be here but still are. Both sides will have virtually new 17's and fans from both clubs will want to be there to see A) Widnes first game back. B) Wakefield's rebirth as they are viewing it.
For most other sides it's just going around again and will no doubt be on SKY plenty of times.

There was a period where the season opener on Sky was a repeat of the previous season's Grand Final IIRC.

Hull v Wire is 'a bang'? Its of little more interest to those outside hull and Warrington than the widnes v wakey game. The new boys and also two of the teams likely to be fighting it out at the bottom. Should be an interesting game.

| given that the big clubs dont usually click into gear until June anyway, SKY have probably made the right decision to show the "smaller" clubs first off.

Hull v Warrington has top quality players in it. It also has the potential to be a close game. There will be a 14,000+ crowd no doubt, which presents a good image for the sport.
Contrast to 5,000 at the Stobart with one end completely empty and an amateurish game between two no hopers.
Having the trash teams on SKY is just a bad idea, which pollutes public perception of the sport. We should get the big games, the big crowds and the entertaining games on SKY in order to raise the profile of the sport.

So your predicting a 5000 crowd for widnes' first game back in super league, aswell as the fact there will be a lot of wakey fans travelling to see the new look team? And your also implying that outside the so called top clubs there is no such thing as an entertaining or close game? You sir, are an idiot
