Is there any reason that they didnt have a 3rd place playoff as a curtain raiser for the final? this would have raised interest if we could see all four teams in one day...

Pointless really, those 2 sides will have played each other already. It will happen in the World Cup, but not in a 4 team tournament

We've never had 3rd place playoffs in our tournaments; frankly if you've lost a semi-final the last thing you'd want to do in as demanding a game as ours is play again!
Might be OK for those less demanding sports of course.

I don't like the idea of a 3rd place play-off. There is more motivation to win if you know your season/tournament is over in the semi-final if you lose.

Why do we need to know who comes 3rd? The reason you have a tournament is to find the winner, tha champion!

What would be the point? Unless it's something like the Olympics where you actually have medals for finishing third, then a third place play off is just completely pointless

i do understand these points, its just i wanna see all 4 teams, wales have a few fax players, NZ are great to watch, im english, and i wanna see lockyers last game! I know itd be nothing more than a friendly but just think it would add to the attraction for some fans

Besides that, two double headers in one competition is too much in my opinion.
