Huddersfield have poured a lot of money into a 'Homecoming' game vs Hull KR on Sunday Afternoon, with Entertainment, Low Ticket Prices and a whole say around the Sunday Game... two weeks before the game sky have moved the kickoff to 7:15, on SATURDAY!!!!

What sport allows this?

All of them.

Two weeks before a game? After extensive planning by the club? Football wouldn't, movements are taken about a month in advance.

Sadly us. It's a shame that they have decided to do this and mess up the hard work from the club. Hopefully fans will still be enticed to go due to the low ticket prices.

If we didn't have Sky we wouldn't have a sport. It's a shame but without them we'd have less fans and less money.

IIRC the Catalans-Leeds game a couple of weeks ago was originally scheduled for a Saturday evening kick-off, but was moved at the behest of Sky to Sunday afternoon - well after many Leeds fans had already booked their hotel and travel arrangements.

This is true, the amount of effort put into making this the biggest crowd of the Season for coming back to the Stadium has all been ruined, and we'll likely see a sub 6k crowd...again because of sky. It's a Huddersfield mentality to watch the game on Sky rather than go. You need to add 2k to every game that's on sky for us this season to see what we could have got in terms of averages.

If they knew it could be moved, it's a bit of a gamble to market something that extensively.

Ridiculous situation to be in. You've got to be able to Market something. This is nit Huddersfield's fault at all.

Incidentally, it happened to Wigan this year (ironically, vs Huddersfield)

We spent the money doing the mailshots to all 10,000 Season Ticket Holders, sending them stickers to advertise the game on 24/07, and then it got pushed back 24 hours.

But saying "they knew the rules" is about as helpful as saying nothing. Teams should not be punished for marketing games. This should not be happening.

I think you mean we wouldn't have Super League. I'm sure the sport of rugby league would continue to be played if Sky were to withdraw their services.

I understand the point completely but it doesn't stop my sympathising with Huddersfield. It's a club often on the receiving end of criticism for low attendances and it must be extremely frustrating for them to make these efforts to draw people in, only to have their arrangements messed up with not very much notice. The fact that such a move is a possibility
is no consolation.

They're not being punished for marketing it, but they should be aware of what can happen - it's just basic business sense.
