Its a tragedy for such a young player to pass away from playing the Sport he loved.

Such sad news. For all the that gets thrown at our players, we should remember the risks they take every time they enter the field.

Very dangerous sport, wasn't it proved scientifically that a collision in RL produces more G force than an F1 car? Or something along those lines.

the often claimed stat is "car crash g forces"........meaning when you come to a sudden stop in a big hit tackle you'll be pulling a couple of G or more....



anyone have any info on this tackle? was it a spear tackle? or did he get stuck in a maul/ruck?? and get kicked about??

union players can and have broken their necks in scrums...so wondering how this guy got injured is a legitimate enquiry because if a player died because he got stuck in the bottom of something and got kicked/squashed etc... it poses serious questions on the game imo

Sounded more like a distasteful point scoring exercise following a tragic death of 21 year old.
If it was an honest question why did you ask if he was kicked about once tackled ? Seems like you were enquiring if the cause of his death was because he was viciously attacked.



He got his injuries from a tackle, his head made contact with the ground which was the cause of the injuries not related to a scrum of being . There are marginally more RL neck injuries than RU ones. There are marginally more serious neck injuries in RU. Few injuries occur once a ruck has formed the injuries typically occur from the contact of the tackle and the player hitting the ground. The rules on RL tackles are more of a risk than RU rules and that is where most of the injuries occur from legitimate tackles.

In the next 10 years both sports are going to have serious issues regarding player welfare.
