I'm aware of the Roosters v Souths derby game. What other rivalrys are there in the NRL? Does any other rivalry come close to this one in the NRL?

Brisbane vs North QLD. (NQ has a lot of support in Brisbane since they were the only two teams in QLD for so long).

I think Origin probably takes the shine off some of the derbies. The first fixtures people look for in Aus is SOO but in this country I look for when we play Saints and Warrington. Those are the games I most look forward to due to the atmosphere and rivalry.

I think the crowd makes our rivalries far better. We hate each other and sing songs at each other. This doesn't seem to happen in aus.

The funniest thing is the Sharkies calling the Dragons choker's when they haven't won anything.

I remember some sharks fans giving it to North Sydney fans about how they hadn't won a premiership since the 1922. Oh the irony.

There is a Manly chant when they play each other that contains 44 years and won .... all.

Some of my mate's when Manly play's the Sharkies(@ Shark Park) look for the premiership room needless to say it doesn't go down well with the locals

I believe the late lamented Bazza was a Sharks fans and he always referred to St George as St Choke...

The Sharkies really don't like the Dragons

maybe some of the amalgamating and clubs dropping out of the main league is why you dont have the same level of passion as english derbies,even with your better attendances.
i have read that newtown fans were quiet partisan vs other sidney teams

Everyone loves the Bluebags (Newtown) nowadays. The same can't be said about Souffs anymore

If you go to the lower league games
Wests(mind you West hate everyone) vs Balmain they hate each other
Illawarra vs St George (in the juniors have had games where Craig Young has had to go onto the field and tell both sets of teams to settle down)

When I was at the Bears and we made the Premier League Grand Final in 07, it was amazing to see how many people had a soft spot for Norths with people often referring to them as their "second favourite team"
