If the team u coached were playing good or just darn woeful?


I've been to many games,and somtimes when your near the dressing rooms from outside u can hear the coach going off his nutters.On the other hand when a teams going well its all a tad silent lol....

if they were getting twonked i would say 'Man up you bunch of slags'. if they were playing well and destroying the opposition i would say 'your hammering them, imagine what you could do if you bothered to man up and stop acting like girlie little slags!'

Our coach played with a rubber glove a few weeks ago!?

My dad played years and years and years ago rugby, they were losing at half time, and he tells me the owner/ chairman walked in with a wad of money and just threw it in the middle of the room saying that's what you get if you win. That worked

i have indeed, but to avoid the mass suicide of the current crop of superleague coaches, brought on by a crushing sense of inadequacy in comparison to my epic coaching prowess, i ultimately decide it was best to just say no.

Anybody that has coached at any level in any sport has been through the dilemma of watching your team walk off at half time after getting a tonking and thinking..........

'What do I say, how do I say it, and how can I make it better ' (but without the benefit of a pile of cash).

Partly for the current Cas to let it sink in themselves and partly because being notoriously poor at HT talks I would be locked in a cupboard!

Both can be quite similar: Ask the players to treat the second half like a new game, and agree some targets to work towards: points scored/conceded, completion rate, etc. Yelling at players rarely works.
