Jamal Hopoate played for St Augustine's. He plays in the Manly lower grades so even then a Rugby League touch in the Union side.

Actually the three try scores for St Augustine's all play for Manly lower grades. Hopoate, Blake and Vescio

What a waste of time, and what is wrong with having League and Union, it's worked sometimes in the last 116 years.

Lots of different forums have been after footage of this game. What I saw of it on the sports news, it was a waste of time.

Nothing wrong with the 2 Rugby codes we have now. After all, fatties need to be able to say they are pro sportsmen too you know just like those bean sprouts from down south and their horrible abomination

I do love both games ........ and I enjoy different aspects of each code.

RU is clearly the 3rd football code in Australia, and rather than accept this, or try to market the game better, the ARU keep trying to persuade the rest of the rugby world to change the rules of the game to attract more fans. Most of their "ideas" for changes, appear to be about losing the unique aspects of the game, and trying to mimic RL. Instead of being a great game in its own right the Aussies want to make it similar, but not as good as, RL.

The best analogy I can think of is ......... imagine how you'd feel if the Catalan Dragons were always moaning about the fact that RU is more popular in France; and in order to improve attendances and tv viewers, they tried to persuade the NRL and RFL to change the rules, to alienate the committed fans in UK, NZ and Aus, just to get more French fans.

Except with the ARU its true .

RU is a complicated game and not to everyone's taste . In NZ, Southern England, the Celtic nations, France, Argentina and SA it is the more popular code of rugby.

In Australia, PNG and northern England, RL is the more popular game.

Rather than accept this, the ARL try to undermine the popularity of the game in its stronghold, just because they're coming off worse than RL and Aussie Rules in Australia.



The sooner Australian RU dies , the better it will be for boith the NRL, and, RU in the rest of the world.

I can't talk for the Southern Hemisphere, but if RU died in Australia it would certainly benefit the game in the Northern Hemisphere ................ the Experimental Laws which were trialled, in order to appease the Aussies, only served to alienate many European fans. The Australians continue to want to devalue and depower the scrum, because they're all a bunch of wimps. They want to turn the sport into a glorified game of tag rugby.

Thats one interpretation of teh reasoning behind the ELVs, not the correct one mind, but union does like to rewrite its history and I cant say I blame them.

Why would any sports lover want to see ANY sport die at all? I don't particularly like one or two sports, but if it makes people happy than so be it. I don't have to watch it or be involved.

Tbh RB the world wouldn't miss galic football, galic hurling, afl, baseball. I'm close adding NFL and Basketball to the list!

I'd keep kabbadi over all of them.
