Thanks for the reminder. It prompted me to go and check if my copy of Gus's book "Rugby Renegade" was still on the bookshelf. Published in 1958 when books about RL were very thin on the ground. Though on the back of the dust cover is an advert for another one, about to be published - "King of Rugger" by that other Welsh legend of league: Lewis Jones.

im sure they would. I mean they know that even if it turned out they couldnt actually afford him their sugar daddies at the RFL would bail them out anyway
