When did rugby league players stop being humans? The amount of texts I have had from people making light of this situation is almost as many as when Michael Jackson died or Princess Diana was killed.

I hope the club just tell him to be careful in the future about what he puts on his private facebook and leave it at that. Just another non-story to make RL look bad.

That is the problem with soicial media sites. Stupid people advertise the fact to milions instead of just to the close knit circles who they normally mix with.

Most RL players are too stupid to be let loose with twitter and Facebook To that extent they are no different to most of the population including RL fans.

This will continue until we give our players the same level of media training they get in Oz. Some of these lads aren't the brightest, but they should stay away from posting anything on the net ffs. Yes half of the country have been sending these "jokes", and I dare say some of his critics are guilty too. But why the hell a sports pro is doing it and thinking there will be no comeback is beyond me.

Maybe teach them about the privacy settings and to only accept real friends and not anyone who looks kind of cute!!!!

I hav'nt seen or heard one sick joke about the events of the last week, I use Twitter, Facebook and spend half my life at University yet no one in my presence has made light of what's happened in Japan.

I'm not suggesting no one tells these sick jokes but it's not as prevalent as some make out as most people exercise better judgement.

I can't remember the last major news story that didn't get jokes spread about it.

My thoughts exactly... if his FB is private, it's hardly posting it publically on twitter is it. A silly thing to do, but hardly a huge deal.

Yes texts to friends or something - private. Not on facebook or twitter, been through this before with homphobic comments from a huddersfield player i think it was. Players are public figures, be careful what you put out in the public domain. End of.

Silly thing for him to post. I suppose the least he could do is he could apologise and donate his wages for the week to the disaster fund. Then leave it at that.

Much as ryan isn't my favourite player , he is guilty of what exactly ? , passing on bad taste jokes , ricky gervais has made millions out of doing much the same

Basically he's a muppet , not unusal among RL players I have found , including my own flesh and blood in that , non story
